    After a meeting of the organisers of the Tour de France this morning, in light of last nights events, it's been decided that the race should go ahead.

    I think that's about it for sprints (except poss. Champs Elysees), and he's going for the Olympics.

    I reckon he''ll have an eye on the Champs Elysees and the chance to win 5 in a single tour may be more than enough for him to slog it through the mountains

    I think he's what - four? six? - stage wins behind Eddy Merckx.

    Although they don't compare...

    Edit = 4 behind Merckx

    I was just listening to Bespoke pod cast and an interview with Bernie Eisel, and he said there was no way you would stop Cav contesting the sprint in Paris.

    Unreal.

    Best wishes to the family. A wonderful tribute from the family, on Twitter (?) as repeated on the excellent ITV highlights.

    It's very sad news and my commiserations to friends and family, but I'm sure quite a few people get killed on the roads by cars every year, including those not related to famous people.
