Way I see it we've got two realistic choices. None Sunderland fan votes will be excluded from final results.
I have voted for wait and see, but I also the club need to put a deadline in place which I suggest should be Wednesday coming.
I voted, play it out and waste time, but I'd rather it was sorted either way asap so we can get on with things. I'm in the Sam stay camp.
I'm a bit undecided as I'd much rather Sam stayed but the last thing we need is another terrible start to the season due to us being in a mess. I vote to wait it out, as far from ideal as it might be. I don't agree with the idea that if he doesn't get the job he'll be sitting in the dugout every game with a single tear slowly rolling down his cheek, I'm sure he'd just get on with it and if anything get more fresh desire to prove himself.
I'm sure we are but the clock is still ticking while we do that. We could have replacement found already. Doesn't change the situation.
I am sure they will be, but the the timing is ruinous, and costing us big time, a good start would be a miracle under these circumstances.
I voted option B, I want Sam to stay big time and don't want to make it easy for the FA. I earnestly hope Ellis and the club are not sitting on their hands with their fingers crossed whilst this plays out, surely something must turn out to the betterment of the club just this once.
Hard to know what's best when we don't know the figures involved. I know Sam was on a short contract but it could be very lucrative, also Compo could be sweet deal. We could be relying on the pay off to land the replacement we want. I love to be a fly on the wall in all this.
It was mentioned the other day, Ranieri came in about this time and didn't do badly. If we've got the new man lined up a few days isn't going to hurt us as he can get cracking as and when Sam jumps ship. Otherwise, just let Sam line things up for in case he stays. Its frustrating but no huge nightmare for me. We usually bring people in with about 10 games to go. Whoever is managing us will have a chance at a proper season.
But we aren't strengthening mate, to boot price and wages will go up as the window draws on, Short is wage tight as it is. The squad is weaker than the season ended while everybody else is strengthening. Add to that the new Gaffer will need a few weeks to assess the squad. None comparable to our usual managerial appointments imo. It's presenting problems which differ entirely.
Sam should be putting stuff on place for if he stays. Potential replacements should be doing their homework having been given a heads up. You simply do not sack your manager for talking to the national set up in my eyes.
Oh agreed entirely. Rock and hard place we are in. It's all pointless anyway if Sam goes and we're not in place to appoint his replacement straight away. I'm getting images of Sam going then weeks of a management hunt.
If that happens I won't be staying up until 2 in the morning to watch us play this year. It would be an absolute joke and the last straw for this board with me. I support a **** Aussie Rules team who can fulfil my disappointment quota for the year.
Whilst I think we are losing valuable time if there a chance Sam could be our manager on the first day I'm for it
Indeed. Good call on him if he's got it right. He'll be torn apart if he's wrong. Twitter users are like vultures on folk who pretend to be ITK
We are led to believe ES wants to keep SA, surely if he wanted him badly enough he should ask him to name his price. Yes, I think SA does want the England job but money talks or is SA waiting until they offer him the job so he can tell them they missed their chance 10yrs ago and they can stuff it. Wishful thinking
