Agree. We tend to buy squad players rather than players that will go into the starting 11. Is Fer better than Leon, Cork, Ki (if he puts in an appearance next season) and Gylfi? No. Is the new defender better than Ash, Fed or Amat? The £2 million tells me no.
But you are not saying about our successful players we have brought in for not a hell of a lot of money, Fabianski, KI, Siggy, Cork, Montero and others ! Just looking at it on relative failures makes it look like we don't get it right at all. Probably about 60% of players signed just don't work for us, it's the same for every club, on premier league sides I would say it's probably closer to 70% The reason is that we have limited players on the field and on the subs bench, competition is fierce, and the stakes are much higher in this league, and in comparison to the lower leagues the players have more games, as they are involved in the league, 2 domestic cups statistically longer, international matches and so on.
Tennis ball size hail yesterday here , pretty warm also .A tornado touched down somewhere within a 100 miles , think it was Pincher Creek .We needed the rain though , it's been so dry ....so dry I seen a tree chasing a dog ...ahem . Saw a dog chasing a cat .........and they were both walking it was so hot and muggy Come on ....throw me a bone here , I trying to work on my needy humour.
Ayew looks to be on his way to Chelsea after a shock bid over night, Jazz Richards to sign for Cardiff city. Jenkins to bid £9.75m for west ham striker who has a worst scoring record than Gomis and Swans shown up by Richmond kickers but gets the thumbs up by Guildo.........We are in trouble especially if rumours are true that siggs could go before the season starts as a number of clubs are interested....
Straight from the bastion of journalistic excellence 'the sun' , really Dai believing all the gossip from trash newspapers is taking the biscuit. I have simply no idea what Jazz has got to do with us now. And taking a pre season friendly as some indication that we are in trouble is laughable, you realise that it was mostly the u21s were playing don't you?
They are all telling us lies then.... ......But not if they say the things you like and then they are the ones to listen too....
They are also owned by Murdoch, but the point is they talk about rumours spread by media hacks who know sod all about what clubs are actually doing
No Dai, I simply don't take any rumour to heart, they are to be taken with a rather large pinch of salt! And most rumours start from the same source, notably clueless media reporters
The only ones that are clueless are the fans.....They believe the things they want to hear and say its crap to the things they don't like....
English giants Chelsea are set for a shock swoop for Swansea City superstar Andre Ayew to bolster their squad. The Blues will fork out £12m in their bid to land the Ghana international from their Premier League rivals. Manager Antonio Conte has identified Ayew as the player needed to solve a problem the Italian has identified in the midfield. A media report in the UK claims Chelsea will make £12m available in their bid to capture the talented player from the Welsh. However, a source close to the player has told Ghana's leading football news outfit, ghanasoccernet.com that the Welsh side will demand at least £30m for Ayew. Swansea are aware that they would be unable to keep the Ghana star as interest in the midfielder soars following his impressive first season in the English Premier League. Sunderland is seeking a deal for the Swansea star while Liverpool is also linked to the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele. Ayew is set to leave the Liberty Stadium this summer as interest will surely grow in the midfielder. However, the Swans will seek to exact maximum profit from the sale of the player they acquired on a free transfer last season. He will become the second player Conte has signed after Ngolo Kante clinched the move from Leicester City on Saturday.
