Prime Minister Theresa May has said Article 50 will only be triggered when there was a UK-wide approach.

With Northern Ireland and Scotland taking a stand, this means it will never happen.

I see that UKIP have started a petition to Parliament, because they see a fudge coming up. They really do not seem to believe that the narrow majority view, which they said would not be enough, will be carried through.

Just to enlarge on this a little the full quote is:

Speaking after the "positive" meeting, the prime minister said: "I'm willing to listen to options and I've been very clear with the first minister today that I want the Scottish government to be fully engaged in our discussion.

"I have already said that I won't be triggering Article 50 until I think that we have a UK approach and objectives for negotiations - I think it is important that we establish that before we trigger Article 50."

I would have thought that was fairly clear.

This sounds as if she is planning on keeping Sturgeon quiet for a time. May knows if she fails to invoke article 50 that will be the end of her premiership.

If one were to have a certain personage on 'Ignore', it might look like you have just told ofh to, er...:emoticon-0183-swear go forth, so to speak. To clarify, a comment was made by the Brains Trust to which Fez responded.
    Happy to help. :emoticon-0126-nerd:

I am surprised we haven't had any conspiracy theories shared on here...

Because if a higher elite controlled things... then surely they would find a way to keep the world order how they want it??? ;)

I don't have anyone on ignore. I just feel the need to expose myself (rephrase, Y'honour?) to all that is said. My debating is usually over religiosity and I am firmly in the Sam Harris/Christopher Hitchens camp there. I can get a bit, erm, blunt but I will say what I mean and I mean what I say.
I despise selfishness, particularly from those who will not put themselves out, even just a little, for the greater good.
I would so have liked to have made the comment longhand..

You are sounding like a petulant teenage half wit. You need to work on your debating skill set.

I also quite like a little debate on religion but it seems that on here it causes more bother than the politics thread so I carry out those debates elsewhere

Has anyone else noticed how many people were asked in that poll? Just over 1,000 is hardly representative.

    Just
Noticed you had a reply from our little troll... so just peeked.

I think the abuse is getting worse and it is labelled at anyone who even obliquely mentions him....

So sad he seeks to debase what has been for so many of us a great message board

Not sure he achieves that Yorkie - we all mostly ignore what he says - even if we don't all use the ignore button - but only engage if he bothers to use his occasional brain cell to say something other than snide comments or abuse. The rest of us to be honest carry on as if he were not here - I cannot see why he continues except for the occasional fish he catches.
