I know it's a friendly and you shouldn't look in to them too much, but we were abysmal. Not too sure why Slade puts Jackson on the left. Crofts and Foley absolute gash. Johnson only around to have a fight. Novak seems a good player. Shame he will have nobody to feed him. Mitov made a bad mistake, but also made a world class save from an incredible 40 yard free kick. Buxton seems steady - imagine he will be the CB that slade said he wants, especially as he can cover RB. I imagine Bauer and Lennon will be first choice if ever fit, with Johnson and Buxton.Konsa and Thomas will probably get games at some point.
More wise words from him: Can we just be sensible about this please. We are a L1 side and the side put out today has at least four team players to come into it who can safely be regarded as first choice, then on top of that I expect another three or to join us. It will be a stronger squad come August 31st than the last time we won the division put it that way. The league is of a lower quality than it was when we won it, so I assume we will blitz our points total of 101!

Yep - I think it was Lookman, Harriott and THD who congratulated their "bro" It's a sign of the times - I personally puked at Cousins justification on Facebook. QPR are not a "big club" - Charlton are bigger than QPR. Far better just to admit you are a greedy b*stard and getting more money off QPR means you can buy even more baseball caps and watches. The players who got us in the sh1t don't feel the slightest bit responsible for getting us out of it.
Just to flip back on topic, I'm in the same boat as last season. We have an English manager (after some spectacular idiocy regarding a previous attempt to get one) and a couple of potentially good signings. Then.... like last season, the whole thing has petered out. We are in mid close season, so there is time to continue to rebuild, but at the minute, what is happening is a dismemberment. We appear to be about to lose the two first eleven goalkeepers we had. Given the pitiful sum we got for Cousins, a million for Pope might be considered some sort of honest return, but to then offer Henderson a move too? FFS, can't these people see the squad we have? Cousins is a theme in itself, but for me, it simply shows that RD is happy to have a moron as CEO, and the moron has made it clear to every club in the country that her negotiating skills came free with kelloggs. Both JBG and Cousins seem to have been let go to the first bidder who came sniffing, and let's remember our owner is a multi millionaire, albeit one who repairs his shoes with duct tape and continues's to wear them. As I said, I'll pass judgement when there is more evidence to show whether the clowns are trying to learn from last seasons disaster, but if I was considering a new ST based on the current squad and the profile of the people running the club, I would be buying one for Dartford FC. Well said @ken shabby If we do sell Pope, we will have to sign another keeper as Hendo has a poor fitness record. You can guarantee that the replacement will be a has-been/ cheapo job. A deluded few are still crowing because we are now signing English sh1t, as opposed to the last two years when we signed foreign sh1t. It is the dishonesty and lack of ambition that rankles. A "top 6" budget says Meire, but in League One that is about as meaningful as beating Reams in an IQ contest. Slowly but surely the Club is withering and dying before our eyes- the lack of ST sales, the abandonment of sponsors, the destruction of Valley Gold....
