The away clubs get a percentage of their ticket sales money, it's a very small percentage, but the Allams still get money from you.
You didn't ask about this season. We haven't had any away games yet. I'm not a member, I won't be joining while Allams own the club. Hope this helps.
Someone.....not me of course......could rock and push the satellite transmission vans over beaming the match around the world. What has happened to the transmission #askehab
Ok so you won't be going to any games this year? Good on you. As OLM says, you've been giving a percentage to the Allams at previous away games unfortunately.
Boycotts don't and won't work for us. Like it or not, a sufficiently large enough number don't care about anything else other than going to see us play football. Stop been **** about them going to watch Liverpool, that's really not true. Yes, as every other city in the UK we have plastic ****s, but in the main, our fans go to watch us. And moan about us tbh. Best idea is cards. Be that with Allams Go on, or USA flags or the red cards, something needs thinking of. It needs publicising ahead of time so the media pick it up, so when it happens, the commentators know what's going on, and they mention it. A short, sharp, focused message. One song, clear, punchy, easy to sing along with that gets the simple message over is needed. It needs to be on the back of the cards. Rather than a half empty stadium, which won't happen, we need to pack the ground. Unhappy people everywhere, with cards, and a song, can have the best impact all over the ground. As it stands we have very small pockets of protesters who are very ineffective. It's better away of course, but it needs to be clearer at home. Pre-game, the message needs to be simple, and well spread around. In game, simple, loud song/chant. Cards. 10/15 mins before the end, as many as possible get up and leave. Keep everything civil, maintain dignity. Currently, our owners don't think about the fans. It's laughable to suggest they're doing stuff to spite the fans, because as far as income and revenue, which is what they're focused on, in the grand scheme of things, we genuinely do not matter. I get it's better to think that they are aiming this at you but they're really not. That's not unique to our club either. Where we can make a difference though is in tarnishing the brand. In making sponsors wants to go elsewhere or to bring pressure to bear, to make it uncomfortable for anyone associated with running the club. Yes, I'm actually this annoyed we've not been sold yet.
Because there was no message or media strategy behind it. If only one of us had worked at high-level media for 18 years...
The only problem with organizing protests at Kirkella and Melton would be that the thugish elements would turn up and totally derail the protest by attacking property belonging to the Allams and then we will have the media turn against us
Great post, but make this 25 mins from the end, as most cockwombles leave at 10/15 mins to go anyway.......
RIGHT...lets stop the in fighting here fellas... its bad enough that we're all so hacked off about whats happening. I have a feeling that forums like here and others with similar views will result in over zealous searching entering the ground, so cards, USA flags whatever will be -on the instruction of them - seized as not allowed on the premises. Someone mentioned CTWD apparel, but where is this going to be sold? I mentioned red T shirts or beanies because the stewards aren't going to strip you before you enter. What has to be clear is timing, when protests start, what time people walk out, when you turn around away from the pitch and that no matter who asked you to shut up or sit down is ignored. What is good, despite your position on boycott or attendance is that the majority seem to be on the same page. OLM... anything happening in Kirkella or Melton would get ugly and actually harm the protests and make those involved out as the cause. With respect and I usually nod at your comments, this is a bad one.. (sorry merchant was typing mine as you'd posted)
Not a turncoat at all....I have always supported City and always will, nothing will change that. We have been through far worse times than these with far worse owners, but it has never stopped me supporting the team Maybe the difference is that I support the team whatever......others just support the team when it suits them !!
A half empty stadium will be a protest??? Wigan were in the PL for how long? Protesting in Kirkella and Melton at a 77 year olds house? GTF. Bummers you keep saying what other clubs have done? Yet its all fans in the club pissing out, the Liverpool fans getting up was a good protest. You've happily made grand statements about not going to the KC yet went to the Cup Final and do aways. Ridiculous. Some go to support the team. Not the Allams or the PL. No one has ever gone cos they love the owners, any owners. The red card protest should continue as its protesting the membership scheme. If the allams do continue, then so should the red card protest. I think the Yanks will eventually buy us now. But they will only agree to review the membership, I doubt the will change it this season.
1) we've never had worse owners. 2) I've never supported us when it suited me. I was there when the team needed it most, at the lowest attended competitive game we've ever had. It actually really unsuits me not to go to games under the present owners.
They've been jerked around once too often and they've gone, some of those involved may try and put something else together later, but for now, it's finished.
If we start the season strongly and finish the window with a solid squad, I'm sure they'd resurrect their interest given how much time and presumably money they've invested. Big if of course.
