I won't panic yet and lay any off yet then.....if he places in the first 7 as I gave my mate at 1/4 the odds, most I can pay out is £110 and that's if he is stand alone....and I've already as good as got that back from other bets I took. Cheers mate
    Makes an interest i guess

I backed Lowry and Kaymer. One extreme to the other today!

Ok, Mr George Contanza ( self )..... predicts no American will do well in this tournament and what happens?
Phil Michelson shoots a course record or alike on the first day!
What I want to know is, was is it a Titleist?

The great Scottish weather is comung out in full force today, with heavy rain due in around lunchtime, coming straight in off the Atlantic and over the Kintyre peninsula and the mountains of Arran, which will add some speed to the wind too - this will sort out some of the weaker competitors.
Nice to see the French golfer with a tribute to the people of Nice after the terrorist attack last night.

Am I the only person to have spotted Matt Lucas in one of his disguises infiltrating the competition?

It's turned into a head to head battle between Stenson and Big Phil, not the greatest Open but it could be fun watching them go at it tomorrow !

Thanks mate, looking like a might make a clean sweep but you never know if Kaymar or Schwartzel (who I also laid at 66's) sneak a top 7 place.
Makes it a bit of fun for me

It's been a very good open. Man against the course and weather. How golf should be. The plastic golf played on perfect courses in perfect conditions every week on the PGA tour is beyond boring.
The golf I witnessed today by both Phil and Henrick was amazing in those conditions. With both players so far ahead it's almost like match play.

Total luck of the draw,if they'd both been out yesterday afternoon they would both be on 5 or 6 under, making it a much closer finish with more possible winners. Like you say it's come down to 36 holes of matchplay !

The draw certainly has a lot to do with it. Mickleson played 10 of his 18 holes yesterday in the most unbelievable conditions. He was like a drowned rat by the time he got in. I certainly was watching him. And for some strange reason bones didn't use the umbrella.
Mickleson certainly got lucky on Thursday but endured a lot of the worst weather on Friday.

As I pointed out when naming selections, factor in Friday's weather, it's the only real defence a links course has. Having said that, both have been at the top of their game. Last time Mickelson won the Open, Stenson was his nearest challenger, history repeating itself or sweet revenge today?...

Top players can play all day in the rain,it makes hardly any difference to players of this quality and makes the greens more receptive. It's strong winds that make the difference, when it gets up to 20 mph then even the very best are in serious trouble !

Looking forward to todays round. Hopefully someone (Beef) can mount a challenge to Henrik and Phil. It looks blustery at Troon and 7 strikes is not an impossible target.

Two players at the top of their game out there today. I like Mickelson but I would prefer to see a European winner. Mickelson has far more experience at leading majors on the last day which might be vital. Come on Stenson.

Great putt by Stenson on the 15th. Two shot lead with three to play. Surely he can't throw it all away from this position?
