I did say most as I am aware that some didn't approve <ok>.

Ban me if you don't want me to comment, this isn't the only place where I post, it's just that you are active.

On topic - Surely this means you will have to buy more than one player now, considering you still need a striker (to replace Carroll) and a LB (to replace your LB if he goes)?

He is entitled to an opinion. And to be honest there is some truth in what he says, some have changed their standpoint. Its maybe a bit strong calling them hypocrites, but I can see why it would look that way. However people are allowed to change their mind, particularly when they believe any new info that comes to light. Personally I can not understand why a tantrum at Leeds is anything to get excited about and has any bearing on this situation. These sorts of things are common place in football clubs. I said on another thread, think of Shearer and his demands for the number 9 shirt and penalties. They're a petty bunch. **** it used to rile the hell out of me that I didn't take corners for my local team. The managers son was on them for some reason and I'm sure I ended up telling him a few times! Look at Scholes, a pillar of virtue to most, but just admitted he refused to play in a league cup game cause he was in the huff because he had not been picked the weekend before, and felt it was reserve team. Barton is not being sacked for that. He has sacked for the twitter outbursts. This latest stuff is just journos looking to ramp up the soap opera!

You would think so... but god knows to be honest.

I think Pardew maybe meant one more in addition to the amount we have now - with whoever departs to be replaced.. So replacements for Jose and Joey if/when they leave... plus one more (most likely striker)

With Jose most likely definitely leaving, I can't see the logic behind just needing one more.. as you said, we definitely need a LB AND a striker.

If the reports are true then he was causing more harm than good. I for one am happy he isn't part of the squad anymore after this. Let the rest of the players gel and become happier, he had every chance to be part of that but after kicking off at Leeds and trying to bully players the writing was on the wall.

Well done Joey, you managed to lose respect of fans who adored you and you only have yourself to blame.

His secondary objective of getting the Newcastle fans annoyed at Mike Ashley?

It doesn't seem to have worked as planned from a look at the reactions.

I just wish the Mario Gomez transfer would go through soon just so we've got something mildly decent and enjoyable to read for a little bit...

Seems to me that Pardew wants to wipe his arse of all Chris Hughtons ideas! Why do manager always have to go backwards to go forward.

Nolan and Barton were the heart of everything Chris Hughton built so Pardew and Ashley have got rid of it.

I don't think that people on here are being hypocritical. Barton played really well for us last year and told us how much he loved the club and the area. With the right attitude he would be a vital part of the squad.

However, with reports coming out that he is being disruptive and having an unsettling effect on the squad, people are now questioning whether it is better for him to go.

So it's not being hypocritical, it is changing opinions as more information is released.

    The problem is..............who to believe?

As Warm Pouch has said, this could be yet more spin released by the club to discredit Barton and change the fans' attitude towards the situation. The board have a history of telling lies to the fans, so this opinion should certainly not be dismissed. Or it could be that Barton is really pissed at seeing his mates, Carroll and Nolan, leave and is reacting negatively to anything and everything that the club now does. His own agent has said that he was angry at not being captain on Sunday and also inadvertantly cast doubt over Barton's wage-cut claims.

One thing is for certain, you cannot have a negative influence in the changing room and, like it or not, this is what Barton seems to have become.

I'll repeat what I wrote in another post,
Barton has engineered all of this by himself. If you spouted **** about a company you worked for on a social website
seen by millions of people, you would exdpect to be severly disciplined no? THe club is taking the right stance. I know the Ashley haters will disagree but what would you have done with him? If he was genuinely that bothered about the club he should of said nothing..

Just saw this on BBC sport, I thought Joey said he would take a pay cut?

Joey was disappointed. There was no way we were going to take a cut in his wages. He wanted four years, they wanted three," added McKay.

Funnily enough many people seem to take everything Barton says as gospel even though he is a biased party with his own agenda.

Do you honestly think he is a person worth believing?

Exactly this. We have people here disputing whether Barton is a loyal, philosophical intellectual or an argumentative **** who acts childish when he doesnt get his way.

People: We are being fed bull via a public battle of wits which is going on between two parties who don't give a flying pig **** about what theyre putting the fans through.

    In short, yes.

As I've said on other threads those claiming Barton has wanted this all along and engineered this move, are basically calling Pardew a liar. He stated quite openly that he believed 100% that Barton wanted to stay and w3as committed to the club.

Barton wanting to stay, or not, is not the only issue though and certainly isn't one that I have ever disputed. It doesn't mean that everything he says to the media is true though, nor does it mean that he is not manipulating the fans for reasons of his own.

Personally I trust the guy as far as I can throw him ... and my back is ****ed!
