I'll copy and paste it fella so people aren't giving that sack of **** rag site hits.

Why Newcastle United fans are optimistic while Sunderland supporters must be fuming
What a difference a few months make, with relegated Newcastle United now so much more upbeat than North East rivals Sunderland

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez (R) smiles during the team building activity at Carton House
At the end of last season Sunderland fans were gloating and taunting their rivals up the road.

The Mackems had escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth for the umpteenth time, while Newcastle United had been relegated.

Red-and-whites loved it, especially as they expected Rafa Benitez to take to his toes in double-quick fashion.

All right, that’s what fans do and if the boot had been on the other foot no doubt Newcastle’s faithful would have reacted in a similar vein.

However fast forward to now, the eve of a new season, and it’s the Sunderland supporters who are suffering and United’s crowd who are supremely optimistic.

Rafa stayed and he’s been a very busy boy in the transfer market, whereas Sam Allardycehas as yet been unable to make a solitary single signing down the road and now, in his exasperation, could be on his way out to England.

What an awful state Sunderland are in. If Big Sam goes now they will be one of the bookies’ favourites for relegation given their continual flirting with danger.

When Allardyce couldn’t force through the transfer of left-back Davide Santon from Inter Milan it was just about the last straw given that the Italian’s long-term partner is from the North East having met during his Newcastle United days.

While Sunderland haven’t spent a bean another Premier League club, Manchester United, are considering smashing the world record with a £100m bid for one player. Same playing field but it really is ‘us and them’ isn’t it?

Rafa, meantime, has done exceptionally well in the transfer market and it’s all looking good. The Mags are the bookies’ big tip for promotion and as things stand I completely agree with them.

Things are shaping up well and if United play to their potential and remain relatively injury free, they ought to come straight back like the last time.

However, as before, they need to get off to a flyer and avoid getting sucked into the morass of chasing clubs battling to crawl over one another.

Benitez is busy trying to sort out those seeking a move, like Moussa Sissoko and Gini Wijnaldum, who should both bring big money.

Spurs have been linked with Wijnaldum, but I don’t see it – the same as I don’t see Arsenal for Sissoko.

Tottenham play with too much energy for Wijnaldum while Arsene Wenger must look at Sissoko’s attitude when things get tough, as at Newcastle last season, and not like the player’s response.

By the way, I don’t see Allardyce as a successful England manager in the same way as I don’t see a Geordie Steve Bruce doing it.

The main strength of those two is forging a team spirit at club level and defying the odds. International football is different.

For me the best two England managers ever are Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson – I played for my country under Alf and I played under Bobby at Fulham.

Both did such an outstanding job they were knighted!

The only English man I can see right now who could do the job is Glenn Hoddle.

We should have a cut and paste rule on all Chronicle articles. They're bias bunch of **** houses. Every link click pays the ****ers,

I know you struggle to copy and paste on your mobile so by all means post the link and hopefully somebody does it for you like I just did. People on desk tops need to help out and paste it though if they see a link in an ideal world(in my head lol) Just loath knowing they make money off Sunderland fans by slagging us off.

Need to get my lasses tablet to the shop, doing her head in but it never gets done. I can't think of a more boring errand than sorting out technology. I don't blame you for not getting round to it.

I'm paranoid though, think they're all out to rip you off, confounded last week when my lady's best friend went to Boro to take her Mac into a shop. They told her it couldn't be fixed and kept the laptop and daft lass accepted it. I told her, they'll be stripping it of the parts installing them in other laptops and charging people for the parts or even just reconditioning the one she gave them and selling it for hundreads. A broken Apple Mac is still worth money so they pretty much stole her property and she just let em <doh>

Im no good with phones as i keep smashing them. Except this old samsung s4 im using now. My last one lasted 2 days and is still in bits. But this old piece of crap in nigh on indestructable. Even with tape i like it. Its a michael jackson phone. It started out black. Now its virtually all white. All the coating has gone.

But a laptop. Especially on here is much better. Plus i dont break them as often. I shall get it sorted.

My phone is well old, they can take a bashing alright. Survives every time it's dropped by my big clumsy sausage fingers.

    Next level down maybe.
To be honest Com I cannot remember him playing at Everton, when we signed him and people were saying how good he was i thought I had missed something, he even started promisingly, but he just seems to disappear, maybe he always has. :emoticon-0100-smile
