I lost all respect for Pelle when I read about his move. Just plain greedy.

As if 60-80k a week isn't enough to live a bloody good life.

He is risking his very place in the Italy national squad by going to China. For what? So that he can buy a 24-bedroom mansion instead of a 22-bedroom mansion. Sad.

 

Mahrez has 100% outgrown Leicester, and will likely move to a CL club, so can't begrudge him.

 

At least the Leicester fans have experienced the joy of their success before the rats left the ship. I would have settled for that.

 

Any time a so called "smaller" club, pokes it's head above the parapet the "bigger" clubs go full tilt to pick of the best players to protect their position and weaken the upstars, mainly because they can pay bigger wages for bench warmers. Wages aren't the only head Turner for players you have to include image rights and a Manchester or Chelsea attract more publicity agencies.

 

Leicester are a CL club.

 

I don't blame him at all personally. China were willing to pay him those wages and he is nearing the end of his playing career at the top level anyway. By the time the next tournament comes round he will be that bit older again and may not get picked anyway.

The Euros was a good reward for a good period with us and the Chinese have set him up nicely also.

My mate ITK tells me that there could be two signings this coming week. When pressed he just winked and touched the side of his nose. He's never been wrong before.

Just another young footballer corrupted by money. Once they've got used to it they lose all sense of proportion.
I've got used to anyone over 30 just going wherever they can earn more filthy lucre, US, China wherever, I think I've stopped noticing.

I note Lampard and Gerrard have been pronouncing on the new England Manager ... and where are they now???
They should be here helping to develop future England players

 

Just shows how tough it is.

Champions, champions league, that stadium rocks with noise. They pay very good money and it's still not enough to hold on to players.

They have pretty much ticked every conceivable box for a club our size.

Yet without a bit of extra £££ or perceived status/history you're always going to lose players.

Just shows how adaptability is the most important asset for medium sized club

So, very, very true. We should all read this & understand this.

That's why regeneration, adaptability, whatever you want to call it, is paramount for a club like ours. IMO, Les, Kat, et al are doing a really, really good job & I just hope, even pray, the progression continues (however you measure it).

 

To be fair, I can see the appeal of the US. At least it's an English speaking country with some undoubtedly amazing places to live for a few years. And they are a sports-loving bunch. The same could be said of Australia. But China?!

And they only care about wiff-waff.

 

For this season they are. Chelsea are a sure bet in the future, especially under Conte.
