Rangers have been granted permission to build 605 new homes on the site of a proposed new super site that includes residential blocks, businesses and a 35,000 seater stadium. And no sooner had the champagne corks popped on that major breakthrough, the Ealing Regulatory Committee voted in Rs favour to stop a proposed footpath on the planned Warren Farm training ground complex. Perhaps things are looking up There again probably not
Nice one but the pessimistic side of me about us having luck going our way is stopping me getting excited. Something usually goes against us when hope is on the horizon, it's the QPR way. Something like our new stadium is built plus new training complex after another Championship winning season and a f-ing asteroid lands on west London...
Great news Beth and thanks for posting. Really pleased but the NIMBYs are probably not done yet sadly.
I used to have this dream for myself Eamon, sadly I realised I was too old and stopped dreaming a couple of years ago. I do still have that dream for my children though, hopefully my children will see QPR play in a new stadium. The youngest was born in February so fingers crossed.....
In that's case here's to a man who intends on living past the age of 175, well done on your determination, planning and sheer will power. You sir are an inspiration to us all.
Then Brentford away is a must goto fixture! Even more good news to add to this thread, i promise not to post anymore guff like that, well only on this thraed anyway!
I used to play football there 68-72 with my school. It was a soul-less place then and has steadily declined further. If the club provide facilities to the local community and smarten the place up, I don't see the reason why people are objecting
http://www.insideworldfootball.com/...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Let's just hope that now it has gone down to 35K (which is more realistic than 40K at the present time) that we do have scope to expand for the future if it's needed.
Was always going to be the way. Why do you think they never looked at buying the houses on Ellerslie Rd and re-develope the stadium? OOC was always going to be their goal. TF is a businessman (not a very good football chairman). Why do you think we have Mittal on board at QPR? Did he ever watch us before getting involved? It's all about OOC and making money and QPR comes second. Saying all that when he does make money and we get the newer bigger stadium, hopefully, we may get some more money for the team. Or he could leave and buy a rugby team?
remember one freezing afternoon we persuaded our teacher to let us play football instead of the cross-country run. He relented but warned us it'd be cold. God, the winds must have blown in from Siberia, I just froze, too cold even to run
Just seen that Wasps are developing an all singing all dancing training ground for £7m in Cobentry, a year after relocating there. Of course it's easier to get land in Coventry (they are taking over some used by Coventry City's academy), but it puts our saga into perspective. Council just rejected the 31 letters of opposition as irrelevant. Relocation of Wasps causing a mini housing boom round my way as the players and staff are all moving up here in the close season. Unsurprisingly they choose not to live in Coventry itself.
