A point of question the media should but have not covered, to my knowledge.

I've never described him as a little Englander. I find it a silly phrase, often aimed at people that want to be part of a wider global economy and made by people who could equally be described as little EuER'S.

Churchill, like ma y saw the benefits in a common market, but his quotes point to the likelihood that he would have kept us out of an EU as has become.

We can only guess at what he would think now, all these years on. It's just a shame that some tried to hijack his image and use it to support a cause completely contrary to his actual views.

He was, however, a very intelligent, creative, and outward looking man. He saw possibilities where others saw only problems. I believe he would have tried to come to some mutually beneficial accommodation with Europe.

Do I think he would support the modern day federal Europe run from Brussels proposed by Juncker & co? No, I don't. But, as I say, he's been dead over half a century, so we'll never know.

You constantly accuse posters of being racist and bigoted, these are lies when you speak of me, which you have and also supported the lie of Treble. All it takes is a wee bit of integrity and less of the shock-jock.

He hasn't handed me my arse, ever.

He get's pissed (he admits it), he crosses the line (he admits it) and he uses language and statements that takes it away from the thread. I just point it out.

    Is that it?

It seems to be some sort of Yorkshire trait, Trebs mate. Just have to have the last word. Even if that last word is ignorant bollocks, like virtually all the ones preceding it....

Here's a couple of tissues. One for clearing yourself up after being rimmed by insufferable and the other to wipe the bitter tears from your eyes. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Just got a call from the Sensible Party. Deputy Leader, Ula says she's had enough of the current Leader as he is impotent in mind and body. She would like someone with the capacity for abstract thought to take over. She is willing to give full support to my election campaign, personally. Voting will take place later in her bedroom. Pete's not invited. He's been Petexited

I think we can make a very informed opinion based on his words and deeds. I doubt he'd have joined a Europe with the facts known to Heath. Had he ended up in power now, yes, he would be negotiating us a better position, as Cameron tried. Had he got the same reaction, based on his history, I can see nothing that makes me believe he wouldn't be pushing for us to be no part of it.

What seems to accepted by the majority, is that the EU is not fit for purpose. The concerns some have on the abuse and actions we're liable to suffer, simply hardens my feelings of wanting it to collapse.

Prejudging your reply, if that results in economic collapse, I'll live with that. In many respects, I'd welcome it for the opportunity to rid ourselves of the political influence of economists and big business and create a better system.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I strongly believe Churchill would have worked very hard to come to some agreement with Europe.

Heath was a political midget compared to Churchill. He had neither his vision, nor his ability to see the wider picture.

It is arrant nonsense to suggest that the collapse of the U.K. Economy is a price worth paying. I won't even bother to explain why. If you don't understand then it's pointless. The economy almost certainly will not collapse. It will however, sustain some considerable damage, in my view.

Given one lives on the south coast and one on the Scottish border and the other hasn't said where he lives and Yorkshire people aren't homogeneous anyway, you may want to rethink your ridiculous generalisation.

In the same spirit, I'll dismiss your opinions as arrant nonsense too. <ok>

You really are an ignoramus, aren't you?? So, you don't care if the whole economy collapsed? Taking millions of jobs, livelihoods, people's homes etc?? Affecting the health and well being of millions? Just so you might get the society you think will follow?..

    Arrogant rubbish!....

I'll leave others to judge who's spouting arrant nonsense here?

I know you're guessing. It adds to the ignorance of your other comments. It seems to be a trait with the small minded little EUers on here to try to pigeon hole people into one side or the other. The fact that, of the two sides they try to lump people into, there's doesn't exist seems to have passed them by.

If you really feel the need to create divisions, the ones left are pro EU, or against EU. I doubt pro EU has many members.

Within the majority against the EU, which seems to be just about every poster on this thread, the discussion is how we set up as an independent UK within the world market. I think we should show some concessions, and allow the EU to come along with us.

Piss stain is being far too generous to you.

Waste of valuable oxygen on an already overcrowded planet, would be nearer the mark...

Spouting bollocks and whistling in the dark. About your mark!...
