This was back in 2005. Just the first two albums released before then. They went seriously down hill after that.
You can't get much more racist than burning someone's home because they are a different nationality... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...has-given-19-english-families-an-1471584.html Virtually every Welsh person I have met has not taken issue with the sheepshagger tag. It is clearly humourous and nobody believes that the Welsh actually shag sheep. We call Pompey fans fish fiddlers and they call us all sorts too, it's just the nature of football rivalry.
I don't think anyone on here considered you to be a friend, when all you have done is attempt a very childish wind up, so no loss if we don't hear from you again.
Pony fiddlers, for some odd reason. I think it may have something to do with our proximity to the New Forest. BTW, SA, you citing an article from 1993. Attitudes may have changed in the intervening time.
This one is more recent.... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/could-see-return-cottage-burning-group-2175723
"Pony fiddlers, for some odd reason. I think it may have something to do with our proximity to the New Forest." I think that our shirts being made by Pony in the past may also be a factor.
Could be.! I must admit I do find the Pony Fiddlers expression a bit amusing. I don't think Saints fans could be less pony fiddling types if they tried.
2013. Yeah OK, I'll accept that. In truth there has always been a problem, with surfaces and re-surfaces. Thing is, it's Wales and the Welsh want it for themselves. Remind you of any recent events.? But it also goes further and deeper than that, as you probably know.
It's also full of inaccuracies, including the name of the movement which is Meibion Glyndwr! I would take the whole thing with a handful of salt, not just a pinch! Years ago, when there were second homes being burned, my family knew a senior police officer who investigated some of the arsons and he strongly believed that there was a powerful political - as in UK Govt - group behind them as the UK Govt was scared of "Welsh uprising" at the time - don't quite know what they thought the uprising would achieve - but he was convinced. This was a sensible, considered, intelligent man with years of experience and a proper copper's nose so I tend to believe him...
But what is a Welsh person? If you have to have been there for generations, does that exclude all black and Asian people? I suspect there is very little difference between the DNA of white Welsh and English people (especially in the counties close to the border). If an English family settle in Wales should their children despite being Welsh born expect to be harassed. Racism is racism and is especially ugly when violence is involved. Of course this is only involves a small rabble, not the vast majority of Welsh. These people are the equivalent of English skinheads.
It makes absolutely no sense. I can believe political capital could be made of it after the event, but for the Government to make such a slipshod plan is ridiculous. It had no guaranteed outcome. I accept we don't always know what is done in our name, but I would hope anyone planning illegal activity would think it through better.
Interesting to hear what the fitting is like. At least Adidas did a comfortable medium, when we made our own kit I had a beer belly protruding that I didn't even know I had! I'm not going to order one until I hear reports, too much hassle shipping it from Belfast if it doesn't fit. VVD on the back this season.
