Depends which side of the fence you are on and on your ability to see into the future. There are no guarantees that the new owners ( if there are any) will be any better or worse then the present ones.
HDM Hull City have denied reports that contracts are being drawn up for an American consortium to take over the club. The parties appear to be closing in on a sale after chairman Assem Allam took the lead on talks this week. City have been in talks with the leader of the US consortium Peter Grieve all week but a deal has yet to be struck. Speculation mounted among fans this afternoon after the BBC reported that contracts "were being drawn up by the relevant parties". But the club denied that and told the Mail the reports were "not true". The Tigers had told all parties interested in a takeover of the club to submit their final bids by Monday earlier as a summer of negotiations nears a potential conclusion. Almost six weeks after promotion back to the Premier League was secured in the Championship play-off final, question marks continue to hang over the long-term future of owners Assem and Ehab Allam. Meanwhile, the Tigers moved closer to signing Wales star Hal Robson-Kanu today after holding further talks with the in-demand striker. We have had much worse owners of Hull City in my lifetime - so I can only assume you're an inexperienced young 'un. We have also had much better owners - so Tubbylard is correct in what he says.
The Allams could ritually sacrifice a dozen fans in the centre cicle before every game and you'd still trot out that meaningless line all the ****ing time.
Thank you. I remember the celebrations when David Lloyd took over with Tim Wilby from the wretched Fish/Chris Needler regime. 'It surely cannot be any worse can it'? we all said as we queued to get into Hull City Hall to meet Wilby for the first time. Then the hopes that the Hinchcliffe/Bucanhan/Belton consortium that rescued us from Lloyd 'cannot be any worse can it' ? It was. They well and truly took us to the cleaners. I do think the club will be sold very soon and I do hope the Allams are allowed to leave with some grace and gratitude. Not everything they have done has been a disaster and the club are in a far better place then we were before thier arrival. They have delivered on the pitch and not many of our previous owners can say that. There have been problems off it and they all are problems that can be rectified. Fingers crossed.
The sad fact is that the Allams would/ could have gone down on an equal footing with Harold NEEDLER had they not entered a petty spat, throwing their teddies out of the cot and spitting their dummies out over the fall out with the Council. All of this is to spite the likes of Geraghty (not that I`m a fan of his). They could have still rescued the situation quite simply by conceding defeat in the name change scenario, and accepting the club and it`s history belong to the fans, but their pig headedness and short sighted thinking has ruined a lot of good they have achieved. The final straw being to scupper the feet of those that have loyally followed the club through its darkest of days by kicking them in the teeth with the removal of concessions, thereby denying the club of its younger element and the future fan base. I was trying my upper most to remain neutral, but the decisions they have made make me long for a new broom.
No we haven't, these are the worst owners we've ever had simply due to the split they have caused and nurtured between the fans. Lloyd was a **** but at least we all could unite in our appreciation of his ****ishness. What the Allams have done may take years to put right
