I'm sure a lot of you have this as your default Station like me.
I have just seen this story!.....I can't believe what's happening.
So the Sun have bought Talksport!?....So, there will be no opinions or free speech on TS anymore.
Stan Collymore. I enjoy listening to him. He's an ex footballer, knows how it works inside clubs. He was annoying at times, but his passion and insight of being a footballer was often interesting. He got sacked months ago when the sun took over.
Colin Murray, who I liked, he has the perfect mix of being a TV football presenter, and a Radio 1 Radio presenter. He was very good in his morning show. He had quit out of ethics, for how the Sun reported the Hillsborough disaster!
I'm guessing Ade Durram will be next, as he had opinions. It sounds like the end of this station.

Good on Colin Murray for quitting, hope he lands another job soon.
Am I the only one who checks thoroughly befor starting a new thread? Often two are started independently at the same time but it doesn't take much time to examine each thread that is highlighted as unread!

My god Dave you go over the top. I apologised ages ago and asked for my thread to be deleted. Get over it. Stop being so petty all the time. There's far more going on in peoples lives than accidental duplicate threads. I had the pleasure of seeing Colin Murray host one of those dull awards nights (Institute of Chemical Engineers)
He is so engaging and entertaining and from his action with Talksport not without conviction either. Well done to him but when will someone clip the Murdoch empire, it is like a virilant cancer and full of hate.

I hardly create threads but If I did then maybe I would. But these things happen, not really worth arguing or working yourself up about as it's not really that important.

My radio is continually tuned to TalkSPORT both in the car and at home during the footy season but hardly ever listen this time of year. I've nothing against Colin Murray personally (although I did have a Twitter spat with him once over NFL), but I do find his voice irritating and could never listen to his broadcasts. As for Collymore, he's a bit like Marmite but his passion for the game always shone through and his 'Call Collymore' show was always a great listen IMO.
Adrian Durham is a knob, but again compulsive listening if you like spitting at the wireless !
However, I have to admit the station has gone downhill recently so it's a pity there's no real alternative as R5L is full of general news programmes most of the time
