Done his achilles. Players tend lose their acceleration after such injuries.

Gomez reminds me of Steve Gerrard - Gerrard used to be injured too frequently as a young player. He did overcame it.

Matip's ankle injury is not serious and a week or so rest should be all he needs.

Nah - he should be able to play through the pain or else he's labelled as 'weak'.

Players tend to lose their explosiveness after doing their Achilles in. I think the same happened to Benteke after his first season and he's not been the same since.

I hope Gomez can recover from this.

I'm assuming that's based on my opinions on the C.Ronaldo situation? If so, you need to learn to read :)

If you're injured then you're are injured. If you can play on then play on. Don't play on for 15mins then demand a stretcher before raving like a lunatic on the sidelines for the rest of the game <laugh>

several players were left behind including benteke. They have not shown their fitness in tests... as in they are not after doing the work at international camps not in hols.. quite a few players didn't play yesterday. clyne, henderson.....

klopp is not putting a guy out unless he trains properly. some have not even got out of the gym to join the main training!
