**** it, should we let this insignificant corner of UK go and just let THEM have it? You know, just for the craic.

I mean, really, what does Northern Ireland contribute to the UK? They're always bottom of the table when it comes to economic growth, employment, happines index etc. They're dragging us down.

We would be doing ourselves a favour and uniting an island back to the way it should always have been.

It must be **** living there. Every time there's a free competition, on the back of a bag of crisps or a box of cereal, it's not open to residents of Northern Ireland :(

First off, I don't think you can just let people have a country.

And the last times large number of nationalists were asked about a United Ireland they said they would prefer to remain part of the U.K.

Then there's the hot topic of Republic of Ireland being broke.

Unification certainly won't happen in my lifetime.<ok>

Surely the majority of people in Northern Ireland would welcome independence?

Just let all the tims out and that would be an end to all the problems.

I like Northern Ireland. It's been like 80s Britain since the mid 90s. Who needs those retro bars like Reflex when you could just go out on the piss in Belfast

the key is in the name...nationalists.

Of course...NATIONALISTS wanted to not be nationalists....<doh>

The Unionist people of the north hate democracy don't they Pinnochmedro.

what happened the last time they were threatened with good old fashioned democracy?

They started a terrorist organisation, didn't they Pinnichmedro.....a terrorist organisation that you continually voice your approval for.

Shame on your bigoted, lying, hypocritical, sectarian ass<ok>

As always it's the vocal minority who are generating these big misconceptions.

It's a myth that most people from the Republic would like to see the North released from British rule.

Indeed, by far and away, the fast majority of people from the RoI actually admit to being jealous of how well run the North is, and would welcome the Brits to come run their country for them too.

The Queen made a great impression when she visited recently and, as a recent pole by the Institute of Studies shows, around 85% of Southerners would like her as their Head of State.
