Of course this should happen I said the other day Sam must go We need someone in quick to sort our team and signings. I was told maybe if England come calling It would be in his contract to let him go Never mind let him go get rid now We will become a laughing stock if he gets the job and we get no proper pre season. We need players and stability or we fall behind again this season GET RID OF SAM FOR OUR SAKES. unfortunately that's the way it must be
After being so optimistic at the end of the season & looking forward to the close season it's turned into a ****ing shambles. One of the worst pre seasons in recent years. ****ing shambolic. The board are a ****ing mess.
Yeah, let's sack Sam and make sure he's due a pay off from us instead of letting him leave and us receiving a pay off from the FA. We're got the board some of our fans deserve by the looks of it. They can sound out other managers without booting him out. People need to be patient. We're stuck with this situation, best to make the best of it. Not the worst.
In the past Short has shown how ruthless he is in sacking managers, the way the FA and Sam are farting him, the club and the fans around, he needs to show his ruthless streak again, I'm sure whatever pay-off Sam would get off us would pale into insignificance to the amout of money of being relegated as a result of such a piss poor pre season as we are witnessing right now. The club is becoming a laughing stock......again
Not sure exactly what I'm reading here - the FA are interviewing for a post and we know Sam has interviewed for it with the clubs blessing. Sam is the most stable manager we've had here for years so we should sack him because he wants the England job and give him a few million instead of waiting for the FA to make their decision and be compensated! Jesus! If he gets it he goes with my blessing. If he doesn't, then we have him at SAFC - there is NO WAY we should be sacking him. Doesn't make football or business sense
So when is the cut off pint Marcus? do we wait 2 to 3 weeks while the FA conclude all their interviews and Sam waits their decision. IN the mean time, I doubt players we are looking at will sign as they don;t know who will be their manager. As it stands, we don;t even have squad we finished last season with. The whole situation is a mess. I agree, good luck to Sam, he has wanted this job for ages...But for SAFC this is a nightmare, as a club, we need to start to take control of this situation, right now, we are being played by the FA and Sam
But to sack Allardyce would be suicide. Who would want to take the job on if we sack our manager for just having an interview for the national job with the clubs permission? (Pretty sure the LMA and Allardyce would be suing the club for wrongful dismissal too!) Sunderland have asked for a quick turnaround on it. What more do we want the club to do? Allardyce certainly isn't to blame. If he had interviewed for a job at Everton or Crystal Palace or Southampton then that's different - but it's the England job. The one every english manager wanted when they started managing (most likely) Like to know how exactly we are being "played by Sam"? He's had an interview for a job he wants with the clubs blessing. We need a decision - it's not up to him so what more can he do?
Sorry vince I normally agree with you but I can;t on this one - if we sack him he will sue the club as he has succeeded in his targets from last season (i.e. no grounds to sack him as he spoke to the FA with Sunderland's knowledge and blessing) so it would cost the club an absolute mint to sack him - in both pay-off and legal fees. He has not caused the problems the FA are the ones causing it
Here's another slant on it - Let's say we get rid of Allardyce for this and we interview Klinsmann. (hypothetical). Klinsmann turns up, sees the setup etc and thinks great. Then thinks "What if the Germany job comes up - they sacked the last lad just for having an interview that they gave him permission for" - insert any name where the Klinsmann is and the same could be said. Why would anyone want to manage Sunderland if they might get sacked, regardless of their club success, for wanting to be a national coach?
I take your point on Sam and his advisors suing SAFC if we did sack him...but in reality, our club needs to take some sort of control here. We are being treat terrible. All our plans are screwed. To sit it out and just wait simply until we finally have zero pre season isn't an option for me.
Still in a far better position than we were this time last year. We have a team in place. A manager still running things - How do we wrestle control from the FA? and when have they ever done anything to help anyone who has anything to do with football!
We want Sam to stay, we just have to ride it out and hope the FA make a decision pronto. We could sound out potential targets to see if they were interested which i am sure they are doing quite discreetly.
it's not that I WANT rid of Sam It's the fact we need imediate stability Maybe the only way is to get rid of him and replace IMEDIATELY Yeh mate I know it's FA that's at fault but can we afford to wait.
We can;t really afford not to. If he gets the sack and doesn;t get the job (as it's still not his regardless fo what is said) then what happens to Allardyce? I'd be contacting an employment lawyer immediately in his shoes if this happened regardless of whether I was offered the England job. And he can afford a better one than I can!! We have no option but to wait for the FA to decide. I thikn we can afford to wait - there's time until the start of the season and SAFC can contact prospective managers on the back of this as it is not in breach of any rules within the LMA as he has interviewed for a new post. We can provisionally offer them the job as well but we can't sack Sam legally. We can agree to mutually part ways but Allardyce wouldn;t do that unless he knew he had the job. Wait and see. That's all there is really
