I still drink down there quite often and still tell people that is where I'm from..I haven't lived there for best part of 30 years though..
I've had way too many beers!, took me 8 reads f thus one to see that you don't have a brothel in Brisbane!!
I love where I live now...I just have to walk 50 yards with the dog and I'm into the woods and fields. My neighbours are brilliant as well which is important to me... I loved the area of Ryhope I was brought up in, although going back there now it looks pretty rough these days..I still enjoy drinking in the Foresters Arms, Queens Head, Guidepost and the Top House every now and again to keep in touch with my many friends from Ryhope..
Hmmm... No more beer for me! The family lived in cls when I was born!!!! I was born in Dryburn hospital though
Washington is officially now classed as part of sland now. There has been a campaign started knicknamed Wexit in the Echo where the residents of Washington are trying to separate us frm Sland.
Born West Boldon then moved to Cleadon (council house) when I was 4.....the Britannia became my spiritual home....and the Cottage....lol
Go to both every time I'm back in the North East. Although that looks like it won't be so often nowadays. Great, ****ty little pubs
Played for the 'Brit' on a Sunday morning then back there for a few looseners.....West Drive lad me....where did you live?
Broadlands on a new development (back then) just off Moor Lane. Didn't spend all that long there. Nice houses, moving there might as well have bankrupted my parents for a good few years though. Right next to the Academy of Light.
Posher than some. Less posh than most. Ordinary really. We always had a nice house at the expense of nice clothes, games consoles, holidays and all of the **** that your friends have and you want as a kid. Probably why I live in a ****ing ****hole now but walk around in a coat that cost a months rent.
What is this thing called a coat, of which you speak?. Cleadon would cost a large wad of cash these days im guessing. It was always nice.
I doubt they'd be able to afford it now to be honest. It was a nice place to live back then but the money swarmed on it after we left. I presume if they'd kept the house/rented it out and then sold it later they'd have made a ****ing **** ton of cash. Hindsight eh. I ****ing threw all my winter **** away thinking I was moving to Aus and I'd be as tanned as Paul Hogan all year round. Who the **** knew Melbourne has cold, wet, windy winters.
