Just what I've always thought tbh ....... if it had been a consolation goal against Belgium it wouldn't be remembered as 'a wonder goal'.

Hendry had the turning circle of a coal wagon and Alkie Goram was the keeper.

Some of Gascoigne's goals were special but that one is well overrated imo.

That's part of the hype innit, it helped us beat the enemy.

If it was a pre-season game for Rangers against East Fife nobody would be bothered.

When you factor in pressure and occasion goals don't come too much better than Zidane's CL final goal vs Leverkusen.

Matt Le Tissier, Paul Scholes were much better players than Gascoigne in my opinion, they changed games and dictated them..

I would put a in his day a Jan Molby above him too..

It's all about watching football and not getting sentimental..

    Greatest ever goal ever..

The quality of the opposition in this case makes no difference, it's Scotland and therefore they will always be sweet to beat.

Stunning goal mate, he scored some beauties.

Most importantly his goal vs Barcelona in 2008. Incredible

Cracking player, you don't ever have to big him up, for me he was and is one of the greatest players for your club..<ok>

we got linked with him in 2001 and Roy Keane tried again but unless Alex was in a coma it was never going to happen..

He was for me the perfect footballer, only Iniesta comes close..

Brilliant footballer, saw him twice as a kid, it was like looking at Paul McCartney on the pitch, flowing player, cool, trendy a bit like Raw in his heyday..<whistle>

Loved his booze too much also.

How many families, careers, lives etc have been destroyed by drinking? Endless.

Nobody is really dissing him as a footballer mate, he was an incredible player.

Gazza had a little magic in his boots but Scholes was ****ing Gandalf.

I'm certainly not ...... I've clearly said I just think he's scored better goals and that one isn't a 'great' goal.

Nothing to do with Newcastle in any way.
