Had drinks with Michael Dunlop, Bruce Anstey & John McGuinness this year & my late friend Paul Shoesmith (RIP).....absolute heroes.....when you see them going round corners at 150mph+ at ridiculous angles & helmets actually scraping against the stone walls you cannot imagine how they do it...

I enjoy taking my bikes to track days & getting up to 150+ but when I do it there isn't much to hit.....if you come off you are more likely to do serious damage to your bank account than yourself......it's not really falling off that hurts.....it's hitting something which causes you to fall off or after you fall off

I used to enjoy motocross before the dodgy knees & damaged back put paid to that.....but most BSB, WSBK & MotoGP riders all do it (still bump into Sam & Alex Lowes occasionally when I go watch the eldest lad near Doncaster)......never been a great fan of trials........put Guy Martin on a mountain bike & he's as beast

He can't transfer those MTB skills to trials riding!! Have a look for the clip - he's so bad it's amusing! He can generally turn his hand to most things that involves an engine.

Guy Martin starts his 'ride' 15 mins and 20 seconds in on this clip <laugh>

You are one of the worst culprits! I assume that comment was firmly tongue in cheek?

You need to plan a year in advance, booked the ferry for next year and could only get on for practice week it sells out that fast. Fortunately I have a mate who lives there so get free digs. And it is a brilliant trip if you ride a bike, especially as out of urban areas there's no speed limit. :)

That's what worries me <laugh> I do quite fancy doing my bike test and getting something sedate like a Triumph 900 Scrambler.

The scrambler isn't built for outright speed like a Hyabusa or an R1 <laugh>

60 odd bhp, 125 mph ..... you're right, it's perhaps not built for outright speed but, with those numbers it'll put a smile on most newbies faces.

You on a bike is worse than you on a keyboard. Stick to skate boarding or roller skates. <laugh>
