The last full season at BP was 9,500. Do you mean 4 times our average when it was first started? We were fortunate that the new stadium coincided with the arrival of a chairman who knew who to get people onside with him and then our ride up the divisions, and the best periodin our history for nearly fifty years. Three or four seasons of middle table division 4 mediocrity might have not seen such a growth n attendances.
It was indeed 9,500, I didn't mean any other time, I just looked at the row row on the attendances list.
Us, Scunny and Grimsby always seem to be the piss taking areas of the country in general, simple, we don't get anywhere near the investment than the ****s of West Yorkshire, Lancashire, and need I say, Londonshire seem to get. We have to cut our cloth accordingly and I don't think the stadium looks too bad, standard stuff yes, but as one who thinks BP should never have been demolished but upgraded then all modern stadiums look crap to me.
Is that not incorrect as we moved into the KC half way through the 2002 season which is the season we averaged 9k attendance? The season before we moved there we averaged 6684?
Looks good. Not just the ground but the whole complex. What's happening with York's move to Monk's Cross?
Oh dear. Hopefully back on the FL by then. Surprising why they struggle so much these days? Not a massive city, but big enough and growing, and a nice place (driving aside).
We averaged 6,684 in the 2000/2001 season, 9,500 thousand in he 2001/2002 season which was the last full season at Boothferry Park. Moved in to the KC half way through the 2002/2003 season and the average for that season was 12,000+. This link is useful, for checking averages of ourselves and everyone else. Some clubs haven't always been as good as you may think, some better. (Hasn't been updated yet to list us in the PL). http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htm
This is really interesting, thanks for posting. Our highest average is bigger than some surprising teams and only 2k less than TWS highest average. Not bad for a city a third the size. Biggest surprise for me was in Italy in that, according to this, Juve have never had the highest average attendance. Of course I understand the lack of support in Turin but as the country's best supported club i expected them to average the highest at some point.
