Don't make me out to be a spelling Nazi Crum, they're the filth of online forums... I was just having a laugh!
Sam seems that desperate to get the England job, it would knock the stuffing out of him if somebody else were to get it now. I reckon it would affect how he does at Sunderland. I'm probably thinking it's now for the best that he does leave, and the sooner the better. Gutted doesn't even begin to cover it though. Without this **** happening we were in for a good season. Now it's another disaster during pre-season.
am not making you out to be a spelling Nazi Adolf, i mean Tel, just my own laziness for not checking before i sent it
I think it's a valid point Vince, but if he's had a clause in his contract to leave if England come knocking then he's made it clear from the off, that in that scenario you'd always be 2nd best. Nobody knows if his contract has this clause mind, but he has been openly honest in his autobiography. I agree with 83, I'm not sure you'll get the same Sam Allardyce back if the FA kick him in the nuts for somebody like Klinsmann or a junior like Howe.
Unless the talks were something on the lines of - Sam asking to speak to the FA to explain the job in hand he currently has with SAFC and that he feels he has a job to finish before he moves on. The FA should respect that. He may also be inquiring about if the FA would consider him to be allowed to work as an assistant manager for the time being etc I suppose I'm trying to think of every possible scenario that the FA might allow in order to be fair to SAFC. My guess is, ...if Klinsman shows interest and accepts an interview, then imo...he will be given the job, either ahead of BS or even with him as his assistant, enabling him to carry on with working at SAFC.
I see your optimism mate, but I can't see Sunderland putting out such a strongly worded statement as they did yesterday, if Allardyce was going to be staying whatever the weather. I don't think a dual role suits the FA, I don't think it suits the manager and I definitely don't think it suits a club who narrowly avoided relegation a few weeks ago, you simply need all of his attention. When you're in the mix and fighting a scrap fox example, he could select every English player from your opposition and put them through physical hell to give Sunderland and advantage... too many conflicts of interest and it'd get messy. I think Klinsmann has a chance of the job though, they'd not be interviewing him if he didn't, but he'd be a bigger risk than Sam in my opinion.
I read somewhere that the FA were hoping to make a decision by next weekend (don't know the validity of that tho) but if that is the case we would have 3 weeks to appoint new manager/ get transfers in so we could be back to not getting many points for a couple of months yet again. I mentioned yesterday is it time to pull the plug and go for the new manager now? I would be really sad to see Sam go but we really should be looking after our own interests by now (as Sam is his).
Only you could think of doing something like that........DESPICABLE!!!! (genius) A dual role is absurd because as soon as SAFC or England goes pear shaped then each organisation/set of supporters will blame the other! If England start doing badly then the FA will get it through the neck by letting him stay at SAFC and vice versa.
I agree with all of the above about Sam...which sickens me, as I genuinely thought we had a chance of breaking away from our usual struggle next season. We really should go for Moyes now, he has points to prove, he know the premier league, he know how to run a club on a shoestring and he will be hungry.
There were never any specific dates mentioned but the three man panel were given a couple of weeks to talk to various football people and get their views on potential candidates. I think that part of the process is now complete and would now expect each of the candidates to be interviewed and then the other directors will decide on who is the best man for the job. David Gill Martin Glenn Dan Ashworth Other FA directors: Roger Devlin Jeremy Moxey Peter McCormick Ian Lenagan Mervyn Leggett Jack Pearce Roger Burden Barry Bright Heather Rabbatts

West Brom have emerged as an alternative for West Ham striker Diafra Sakho following the uncertainty regarding his proposed move to Sunderland. The Senegal striker looked likely to link up again with former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce at the Stadium of Light but the move would be in jeopardy if England decide to make Allardyce, 61, head coach. West Ham have rejected an £11million offer from Sunderland but would be prepared to let the former Metz man, 26, go if and when they find a replacement. Sakho lodged a transfer request last week, and West Brom have now also shown an interest in the player.
I've become an otter whilst on holiday (I still read) but it's obvious who the comment/dig was aimed at . . . . I can't force him to like me, but I won't let it get to me
