Fosse, mate. Ignore him, he could start an argument in a phone box. He'd still be there 24 hrs later trying desperately to prove himself wrong/right!....

We took 188,000 non EU immigrants in last year, who met the current criteria. They formed part of the 333,000 total net migration total in 2015.

Davis has said that post Brexit the net migration annual total would be somewhere between zero and 100,000. So unless UK citizens flee in their droves, we're going to taking in far less non EU migrants than we do today, not a complicated mathematical calculation is it?

He does answer it, the answer is a measure of his understanding, to try and convince him otherwise is really pointless.

Your sums may or may not be accurate, Davis's wishes may or may not come true. It doesn't alter what I put at all either way.

Agreed. Some of the deals could happen quite smoothly. I think a lot depends on whether we want access to the single market (which comes with tariffs) if we decide to go down the WTO route, then we'll have to renegotiate all 161 deals separately with each county, which could take up to a decade to conclude, according to the head of the WTO.

I understand very well that it's absolute groundless, pointless bollocks. As both I, and others have pointed out.

He's been given his answers several times, but he just keeps coming back in another desperate attempt to prove himself right.

    He's not!....

I'm already ahead of the game on the first bit, which probably accounts for your failure on the second. <ok>

It's a possible scenario, but no more than that. So much has been predicted and quite a lot has already left folk with egg on their chin. The whole process is moving at a far faster pace than many predicted, the processes and systems are being raised every day, some already there, some a tweak of what has been, new faces will be blooded in the negotiation arena and we must see just how, not just the UK, but the EU, the WTO and the rest of the world evolves from this huge opportunity for change. Change is uncomfortable for some, but for the makers and shakers it is a huge opportunity and that is good for the world as a whole.

I am not going to go back over thousands of posts to show where you've been shown to be spouting nonsense.

If it makes you happy, keep spouting it. You might actually find somebody outside of your two Hull mates who wants to listen.

For the rest of us you're just a world class pedantic twat!..

Whatever, as I said, it's a pointless discussion.

All I quoted were the current totals, and Davis's prediction - and if he gets his wish then your original premise was quite simply wrong as there'll be less opportunity for non EU immigration not more, as he patently meant that the selection criteria would be increased further in order to reduce the number of successful applications.

To be fair, most of what has been predicted in terms of the economy has come to fruition. Mark Carney was confirming that only yesterday at the select committee. I'm naturally an optimistic person, but to be honest it's all speculative at the moment. I want to see it work and the UK flourish, I do however think that we're going to be in for a tough few years before we see any benefits of going it alone.

It's all down to the trade deals now. We need a free trade agreement with the EU, without it our long term ability to attract global investment from businesses seeking to have (or retain) a European base is ****ed.

If Davis fails to deliver free trade and we end up with a tariff, then we're in for years of decline imo. The idea that new World Markets will just mysteriously appear virtually over night, to cover the EU export shortfall that would come as a result of a tariff is fanciful. It'd take years to undo the economic damage.

I took the time to go through your replies over the past 24 hours. The most accurate claim I found was that you'd replied countless times, because I couldn't find any replies to the question to count.

Have a look at some other replies, I m not trying to 'win' or prove a point. That's the domain of you and Tobes and why you repeatedly fail so spectaclarly and the discussion dies when you two start chirruping on.

You're saying that the current system favours EU migrants, and that the one Davis proposes will be an equal one. Which is in line with what I think.

There is no discussing with a pedantic fool, like you. Your point is groundless bollocks!

I can well believe that a world class pedantic bore, such as yourself, would spend 24 hrs going over thousands of posts.

I bet even up there they run when they see you coming!...

You'll have somebody's eye out with that dummy. I didn't make a point, I simply asked a question that you haven't answered. . All the extra bits are your own invention which seems to point to who is the pedantic twat. <ok>

Cut the personal ****. The thread runs better if people reply to the post rather than the poster.
