Is being built in partnership with British Steel, it looks half decent... please log in to view this image
I like the fact it looks like all the training facilities are on the same site. Very progressive. I hope one day we have our own stadium with training facilities all on one site.
It's in the middle of the Lincolnshire Lakes development, which has recreational lakes with artificial beaches, windsurfing, sailing, boating, outdoor swimming plus cycling and triathlon facilities. Anyone fancy going to the beach in Scunny?
Isn't there average attendance really low? I'm sure I saw it was under 4k. As nice as it looks I can't help but think it's going to be another Darlington stadium where you have a decent size stadium with nobody there! So many teams do it now and then complain the atmosphere is crap.
BBC Humberside Sport @HumbersideSport Scunthorpe United could take possession of land for new stadium within 6 weeks after gaining planning permission & deal from British Steel.
i always thought that instead of the current one being called glanford park it should have been called the new showground. this new one should be called the new new old showground.
At least our average attendance was close to 7k the season before we moved into the KC. Any ideas what the capacity of there new ground is going to be?
Their new ground has a 12,000 capacity, which is three times what they averaged this season (the KC was four times bigger than our average the season before we went up), clubs always try and use a new stadium as a catalyst for growth in attendances.
I've seen a Wednesday fan on Facebook suggest that us and Scunthorpe should swap stadiums based on our Wembley attendance.
I know, I think some of them still can't quite accept that little Hull dared to beat them on their "look at how big a club we are" day.
12k is a good amount for them, not too big that there is no atmosphere but also enough room to expand. Looks good
