Have the local media even commented on it (since the deadline past at midnight on Monday) or are they continuing to act like it was never said? Has anyone actually heard any sort of update (other than Mr Bruce in Portugal saying even he's no wiser)? What a mess and a disgrace.
What happens in the next couple of weeks will shape our entire premier league season. 1) Allam's stay = protest songs/action, more crap flung our way, under current of negativity, poor atmosphere. 2) New owners, reversed decisions (membership, name issue etc...hopefully), fans back behind entire club, communication flowing again, improved goodwill across while club Obviously we don't know what the potential new owners are like but they genuinely couldn't get it as wrong as our current regime!
Obvious maybe, but as a privately listed company they are not obliged to release anything until they lodge the relevant corporate papers when it's a done deal and names change etc. Companies that are publically listed, such as some football teams, have much stricter rules as shares are openly traded. I haven't seen anyone compare our silence to other clubs that have been more open, but sometimes there are legal obligations to notify if there is takeover news. Not here... No news is fine.
Any wise business person would have thought to prepare for the rapid changes that would come from getting promoted and selling the club on top of that, but it seems like they are just making it up as they go. With that said, if you look at the past few years, you can't be too shocked by that.
if the new owners turn out to be americans, won,t they want a daft name like american SOCCER teams have?
Out of the 20 clubs there are 3 City's and 1 United. The 2 new clubs for 2017 will both be United. I think Americans love our 'quaint' traditions & would stick with it.
