Month until new season kicks off and thought I'd get some ideas if people wanted to have another prediction league and what sort of things they wanted. Had 2 ideas really so up to people to see what they would fancy, or feel free to leave suggestions. Idea 1 - Simple basic prediction. Similar to previous years but a toned down version, so will be to predict the score of LFC game & time of first goal. Points awarded for correct score/result and say 5 for spot on time or 2 for 5 minutes each way. No goal scorer, no other game etc. Idea 2 - Something that was mentioned part way through last year. A betting type game, where you will be given a starting pot of £10 for example and can bet as much or as little each week on the LFC game and a specific set of score lines etc. For example, I'll get the odds online from betting site for match odds and a small selection of exact scores for people to put their stake on. After each game, winnings will be added to your total to use next week, along with a top up £5 each week so even if someone spunks their £10 down the swanny game 1, they can still participate. Also means if anyone misses a few weeks can still easily catch up etc. Let me know what your thoughts are feel free to discuss ideas
i like the betting idea, as long as i dont have to count odds and stuff i dont gamble so dont know how it all works tbh, never actually done a bet myself
Keep it simple I say.... Exact score - 15 points Correct result - 5 points Correct Goal difference - 3 Points* Correct number of Liverpool goals scored - 3 points per goal* * = Bonus added to whatever points you scored from predicted result The time of first goal scored could cause issues and arguments imo. Plus you have to calculate it a bit more. The above is easy to score. Edit: e.g. With 3 points for every Liverpool goal, and you predict the following amount of correct Liverpool goals... 1 goal = 3 bonus points 4 goals = 12 bonus points 0 goals = 3 bonus points (for predicting correct amount)
It's a bonus 3 points. So you add it on to correct result. You can get a correct result but not the correct GD. So...Correct result = 5 pts Correct result + GD = 8 pts
FFS. Perfect score would automatically get the GD bonus points and Liverpool goals bonus points. P.S I know you're getting me to bite but the above is in case you were being serious.
