They've won their top division for about the last 14 seasons, one short of equaling the world record. Obviously the quality won't be that high there, but having a winning mentality always helps.

Gibraltar is a nation? It is a British overseas territory. And will be a Spanish territory if they get their way.
Whatever, it is ludicrous that they are in a competition like this.

The 'most title wins in a pub league' world record?

You're right, they are a British territory, but we don't play as Great Britain in UEFA, do we?

They should put a team from Hull Sunday League in. More divisions, more teams and larger crowds.

Team spirit helps a lot though, defend doggedly and hope you get something on the break. If a team has a winning mentality it's only 11 v 11, you never know what can happen. The idea that a team just has to show up to win is faulty. That's why I don't get why people were so surprised Iceland won. If a team like England or Celtic think they only have to turn up then they deserve whatever they get. A well drilled fit side can at least fight and try and frustrate.

It's a game of two halves, you don't want to score too early, having something in the locker, you can't win the title in August but you can lose it are more football cliches. And just as meaningless.

What are teams like Arsenal, Real Madrid, Spurs, Athletico Madrid, Roma, Dortmund & Man City doing in the CL?

In the good old days of the European Cup only Champions and holders were allowed to enter

I turns out these 'facts' are completely made up for a joke and accidentally shared by Sky. <laugh>

That was kind of my point, it should be what it says on the tin.

To be fair if Celtic came to the English leagues they would piss all over most of the teams lower half of the prem and below. They have 53,000 odd season book holders.

Hilarious result, but clearly a freak result and they will probably smash them at home.

On another note we should have signed Dembele from Fulham instead of him going to jockland.

Do they? Well how come they have 10,000 empty seats every home game?

Because Rangers got relegated and everyone else in the league is ****, it will go back up again this season.

So they have 10,000 people who have season tickets but never go?

I'm not being facetious here, I'm interested to know.

On the basis of season ticket holders Newcastle should have been in the top four whilst Bournemouth, Watford and .Swansea should have been relegated.

No, season ticket sales fell when Rangers dropped out the league, they sold 41,000 passes last season, they expect to sell 52,000 this season.

Celtic are a massive club and are pretty well run (given financial constraints of Scotland) not comparable to Newcastle. Anyone denying the size of Celtic is deluded. With the money in the premier league I would imagine they could attract a fair better player that any of the clubs you mention above.
