On the other hand why do we have football forums if not to discuss tactics, does anybody here actually think they can do a better job than the manager of Portugal or City, I don't think so really?
Every team plays the same amount of games. The two with the best points total from those games go up the next four play off. The winner of the play-offs joins the other two in the PL. It isn't like ski jumping or one of those Olympic sports where you get points for style.
Another backwards appointment to appease the narrow minded England fans. Yes he will go back to basics and toughen the squad up yes he will bring a fresh approach and be willing to try different tactics But...... does he have an in depth working knowledge of international football - no has he produced results at highest level - no has he overseen the introduction of a definitive style that has assisted in the development of future players - no England need a seasoned, knowledgeable and experienced international manager along with younger manager to mentor
I think a lot of people on this forum and millions more throughout the country think they can do a better job of managing their local or national team. It was ever thus.
The majority of the average posters ages of this forum, would tell You , that crossing the sideline painted strip, on sturdy legs , would prove problematic,
The point I'm making is we did struggle a lot at times last season so you either pretend it isn't happening or make a comment about it? If Derby did get that equaliser (and despite what Bum Chin says everybody I was sat with thought it was coming) then we wouldn't be here having this discussion as we would still be in the Championship
I certainly don't but you can't gloss over things and pretend last season was a picnic because it patently wasn't at times whatever the end result was
It doesnt matter what you expected, they didnt equalise. They didnt even come come close. Players getting injured isnt the 'wheels falling off'. They had the chance to rectify it in the home leg and they didnt. . Where did I say we shouldnt discuss tactics?
City Man thinks anyone without coaching badges doesn't deserve an opinion. **** knows what he's doing on a football message board.
If you read the thread theres comments about Bruce knows best etc.etc. nothing to do with you. If you could do a flashback to that game and everybody at the KC at the 35 minutes point I reckon 90 percent or more were expecting them to go on and score.
All or some of those criticisms could be levelled atbmany World Cup winning managers. Let's start with Helmut Schön who won the World Cup, guided them to runners up and won the Euros.
In reply BoJack, Simillarly , If by NOT talking about an onfield problem, that Fans witness throughout a Season, or based on game by game expectations, how ever would a problem be solved.? Standing in front of a shopkeeper, with a claimed £5 in your hand, but saying nothing, Is only going to be taken away and those bottles of "White Lightning" won't materialise. In the fast moving world of week to week games and Identyfying points of topic and having 7 days to talk about solutions, only to find the Fans have seen a whole New set of Issues in which to raise in the following game and then discuss them on the forum.
I don't think anyone without a badge shouldn't comment. Badges, eh? As someone once asked, who would you prefer to be coaching your kids, Keegan, Dalglish or Bassett? One of those had a coaching badge, two didn't. Are you saying the average fan doesn't think they can do a better job? You must cover your ears at football matches.
And we had some great performances like the hammering of Burnley and Boro at home and the demolishing of Derby in their 1st leg cup final. The hammering of Charlton 6-0, another one. Our second string drawing 0-0 at Arsenal in the Cup. Our second string beating champions Leicester in the Cup, ditto PL Swansea. 'Nice opponent' in the Final ???? It was Wednesdays biggest day for 25 years, they would have trampled all over us given half a chance. And to end we won promotion to the PL at Wembley, our third win there in eight years. Now can we have reasons to be cheerful ?
