That's football pal, you win some you lose some and you take the rough with the smooth, the good times with the bad times. It's called being a football supporter.
    And less of the insults.
    You've lost.

You're having a word with me about insults? <laugh>

Haven't lost, just sick of this discussion. Neither of us have 'lost' because at the end of the day it's an opinion.

One of the best things Bruce has said..

"Call me old fashioned, but we're now holding umbrellas up as our players get off a plane,"

please log in to view this image

"Do they need that? It's a few spots of rain. OK, they might get wet. Well, let them get wet. That's what happens when it rains.

"We've got to find our humility again because, frankly - we ain't that great. We haven't got anywhere near winning, yet we've got very good players. So something is missing.

"I think the average man looks at players now and he's not so sure any more. He thinks all they care about is cars, houses, what watch they've got. We've got to address that. We've got to find our English identity, we've got to find that humility again."

Would a certain Mr Brown be on his coaching staff I wonder if Sam is appointed?

    Sunderland club statement...

The Football Association contacted Sunderland AFC to seek permission to speak with our manager as part of what was supposed to be a confidential discussion process with potential candidates for the position of England manager.

At Sam Allardyce’s request, we agreed to this.

Sam is very much key to our plans. After what was an extremely challenging season, we are keen to see a period of stability, both on and off the field, and we want him to remain as manager of our football club.

The ongoing speculation over Sam’s position is extremely damaging to Sunderland AFC, particularly at this crucial time of the season and we urge the FA to respect the disruption that this process is causing and bring about a swift resolution to the matter.

That line is very interesting. Sunderland are clearly pointing the figure externally at this coming out.

Good for us anyway if he gets it, who would they go for? I can see them trying for Coleman but getting nowhere, and it's all wasted time so close to the new season.

    It's a process that shouldn't be rushed.

Sam Allardyce? I suppose that at least ensures Sunderland will be embroiled in another relegation scrap if he's appointed. But would his appointment progress the national side? Highly doubtful.

I think we did struggle to the final really, was a miracle Derby didn't equalise at the KC as anybody there watching the match would say, Bruce really went over-defensive and we also got lucky when Brightons wheels fell off giving us a nice opponent in the final. I respect Bruce for getting us up but some of our stats matched the bottom four in the league and we had some dire performances v the likes of Rotherham and Leeds which cost us automatic.

If for example, Big Sam is successful. Effectively , Does that require Full Time Duties or will Sam manage Sunderland too.? HaHe, Sunderland , managerless before then Season begins.

This is nonsense really, what you are saying is people can't debate the football and the manager knows everything, in that case why bother turning up here posting comments

England manager is the best paid job in international football, they're not going to let you do another job as well.

It wasnt 'a miracle', I dont recall The Jak making anything other than 1 routine save.
Brighton's wheels didnt 'fall off', they were beaten over 2 legs fair and square.
Boro had a run as bad as anyone when there was the confusion over the manager. Were they lucky to go up?
We got promoted fair and square putting in probably the most dominant performance ever seen in a Championship play-off final.
There was nothing lucky about it, give credit where it was due.

I totally disagree, sat at the game we were all expecting Derby to equalise. Brighton were down to ten in the play-off first leg for a third of the match and left the Wendies with a fairly easy task. I respect that you and Syd like an argument so will leave it there and say thats my opinion. Surely you don't agree with City Man who doesn't think we should discuss tactics on here

In a results based industry it is difficult for someone with no knowledge of the industry to argue with someone who gets results. Do you think Portugal fans will care how it was done? Do Greek ones? The trophy has Greece on it, it has Portugal on it. It doesn't have England.
