Majorca a few weeks back now, really like the island but we go to quiet places, only a 2 hour hop on the plane. The sea, sand & sun is just like anywhere else. Cant see the point of going to the Dom Rep to sit on the beach 24/7 when you can do just the same in somewhere like Majorca?
Off down to Devon with daughter and grand kids in August for a week then Turkey in November with the boys, yes golfing.
Looking at Crete next year for a little history and of course beach.

I can't comment on the beaches mate.

It is 3 or 4 years since we were there and it might have had a big upgrade (I'd check if you're considering it as an option) but the place was tired and well in need of a lift.

But I've heard lovely things about the island from others.

I'm not sure I'd be looking at the Greek Islands for a while anyway, given current circumstances.

Yes but you could pick winkles & mussels when the tide is out & have them really fresh.
Seriously though, Seaburn has a cracking beach.
