The EU as a trading block won't fall apart, the Eurozone could well reduce though, as it was always a totally flawed concept imo.

Sorry, I've already put my name down for The Sensible Party. Apparently the deputy leader is quite keen for me to join. Rumours abound I may even be challenging for the leadership very soon as the current one is very unpopular with the members <whistle>

    Sensible policies for sensible people

I particularly liked the United Counties of the U.K. policy. Regional self rule with an administrative core at Westminster.

    Oh the irony.......

I'll be doing away with that one Tobes. Going to put it to a referendum. Tell everyone that if we let that happen all those peskie Londoners will be making their way over the border to our proud districts. I'll then take the deputy leader out for a celebratory pint.

haha, those immigrants from Hull are nicking jobs down in the smoke mate and setting up multiple kitchen hovels. There'll be no open borders post the referendum.

I'm guessing unsocial hours, **** pay and conditions, soul destroying work for an employer who treats it's staff with utter contempt? Perhaps I'm wrong in this instance, but there are a lot of jobs like that about in the current climate, and I don't blame anyone, British youth or whatever, for saying "stick your job up your arse" in those circumstances.

The difference between me and the average Leave voter is that I don't blame immigrants for the problem; I blame **** employers and impotent or absent Trade Unions.

The average leave voter doesn't blame immigrants. Most don't seem to even have a problem with immigration.

Blaming immigrants just seems to be a lazy, inaccurate line spun by people that believe what suits, rather than reality.

There's no way it would decrease the possibility but if the EU falls apart it doesn't mean that the countries can't get together and discuss things peacefully.

As I put much earlier, that may be/have been their design. However, they forgot to ask the people what they thought of the idea.

When they do ask, which they will inevitably have to do, I'm sure they'll be told where to stick their idea!...

Yes, I saw you said that, but up to the vote, they hadn't really bothered asking too much, and it's far from being inevitable that they would or in deed still will. They've got further down the road than I want already.

If you look at one or more of the links I posted, there's a fair bit of information that the UK opposition to the federal state, isn't representative of the rest of the EU.

Most don't seem to have a clue why they just voted to **** the bed. Talk to any of them for more than two minutes though, and immigration is what always comes up.

A possible consequence could be associated with trade deals. In the past, they've included elements that provide for support for the trading partner in disputes with others. To some extent, it's what cost us the cod war, or contributed to the outbreak of WW1.

Largely initiated by remainians desperate to claim immigrants as the issue. Most people I know don't see it as being about immigration in the way remainians keep trying to imply,. It's about the freedom to choose a more inclusive border policy. They're not the same thing.

It may have some support amongst the political classes, but as I've already said several times, once the full implications of federalism are explained to Pierre and Fritz public, I think whatever small support the idea may currently have will rapidly disappear.

Yet quite a few bits of research disagree with you on that. I posted one.

There you go again, banging on about Romanians.

You voted Leave because you are scared of foreigners stealing your **** jobs and your fat ugly norvern birds. Why can't you just admit it?

I voted leave simply to upset the weak and delicate minded types so I could watch them cry. It worked. <ok>

    We're going round in circles.

If and when they get around to explaining the full consequences, I very much doubt that there is anywhere near enough support for a federal Europe.

We are going round in circles, because you seem to be in denial about the stated aims of the EU being for federalisation, that its current structure shows it's walking along that path and has been all along, and there's evidence to show that opinion in Europe isn't as strongly against it as you seem to feel. If anything, there's evidence posted that claims it's national politicians that oppose it more than some citizens.
