Its not I don't rate as such as all of them would walk into most teams in the prem esp ours lol, but for them to push on they need to buy world class and they only seem to do that from midfield to forwards. Their league positions and lack of European dominance proves this. Get so far cl fall apart, come march April fall apart in the league. If they stopped being so reliant on forwards to score and grind out results I think they could dominate again. Only my opinion though.
Going to be huge improvement now Skrtel is going, utter ****e. Be even better if we can get a proper LB Don't rate your defence either.
I agree with that but wouldn't blame their defence for falling apart, I think that is a deep rooted mentality in the club as a whole probably transmitted by Wenger.
Neither did I much when we had a midfielder at CH and a winger at RB. Hopefully Shaw will come back something like his best and Bailey will work out. I am happy with Smalling if he keeps improving (he still has the odd **** up in him but is better than most in the PL) and more than happy with the way big Tim is playing.
You have been lucky you had schmeicel 2 in goal. No idea on your new players, but you have the right manager to sort that ****e out now, so do we at last, just hope he can wave that magic wand that has been lost for so long. Going to be an exciting league this year, feel it in my bones lol.
So many interesting managers and players in the league. Let's see what the refs have planned to make it all about them again.
After last season it would not surprise me to see 8 or even 10 teams genuinely pushing for a top 4 place. It is widely thought that last season some of the "top teams" underperformed (us, you, Chelsea, City and Arsenal), while this is true to some extent I think part of the reason is that the "lesser teams" have improved and got many unexpected wins last season on their own merit not the failings of others. Right now I would not like to predict top 4 (in any order) with any certainty.
Kos is good player. Gabriel & Mert aren't good enough. Bellerin is very good RB. Monreal is solid if not spectacular. Could probably be improved on, but i'd take him over Moreno.
They also have Gibbs (can fill in at CB too), Debuchy (lost it a bit) and Jenkinson, not too bad in my opinion.
Gibbs is meh and never sene him play CB, normally comes on at LM to help be solid when winning, Debuchy wasn't even great at Newcastle and is no where near good enough now for top club. Jenkinson needs to go play more first team fooball, was dropped at West Ham last year when on loan?
