    Actually, if you read carefully, there are many occasions where I will post that I hadn't considered a particular point made by someone else. Just because I debate strongly, don't judge so quickly. I am more than happy to concede when I believe it be right thing to do.

    you won't have seen any evidence of me opening my view with "I don't care what you think"

    Do a search on Austin to sign for Newcastle and the telegraph states that Newcastle lost interest in Austin as QPR wanted £15m and they were concerned with his knee. Article was last year

    Partly. He said he was due to sign for Newcastle but failed a medical. He had no medical and the clubs didn't agree a fee. Not really close to signing him.

    I think Hull was before last summer. The point was that a few clubs were interested but concerned about his fitness.

    This is the issue with forums. I got what. ashby was inferring... that Austin may be an injury risk to us still. I don't think he was really driving at the point of a failed medical exactly, just that Newcastle had concerns over the injuries. It was certainly enough for me to understand that he was correct in Neecastle commenting to that affect.

    Personally, I believe that Austin's injury record has been overplayed, and exacerbated by being exceptionally unlucky since he signed for us. His injuries since he signed for us have mostly been impact ones, and his games per season at QPR wasn't actually pretty good. By biggest concern over him is whether technique-wise he is a good fit for us. In the games he has played his touch and his passing has been fairly poor. I'm hoping that's down to lack of games though.

    That's exactly what he said! If he said that Newcastle had concerns with his injury record I wouldn't have taken any issue to it but he said he failed a medical which is incorrect.

    I think it was down to lack of games. I remember watching him back in league one at Swindon and how much his touch and movement impressed me.

    I hope so! I remember even at SKD testimonial a fair number of misplaced passes, which were pretty easy ones to make! No doubts about his finishing though - he almost has the same problem as J-Rod in that he is trying too hard. Once they both settle I'm hoping for fireworks
