AC Milan has been sold to a Chinese consortium with the new buyers promising to spend €400m in the next two seasons.

This comes a month after another Chinese company took over Inter Milan.

    See a pattern here?

    UEFA 'A' Coaches:
    Eng - 1,178
    Ger - 5,500
    Spain - 12,720

    Cost of Course:
    Eng - £5,600
    Ger - €530
    Spain - €1,200

Is it cheaper to buy into the Italian league than others?
I could understand them buying into the PL, it's a license to print money at the moment, not sure if they will get decent profits out of Serie A

I've no idea Diego, but I'm genuinely pleased. AC Milan is a great club and it sad to see what's become of it over the last decade. At its best it was the most exciting club to watch imo. Better than Barca, Real or any other European club. Expansive free-flowing football with tactically clever football. Loved it.

I would've hoped that you learnt lessons off the likes of Hicks & Gillett, Glazer family, Vincent Tan, Randy Lerner etc. that these foreign owners rarely, if ever, stick to their promises when they first arrive at a club.

Haha true. The problem with getting big money owners these days is that they are restricted with what they can do because of FFP, which gives a lot of them the perfect excuse for not investing that much in the squad. Another Mansour/Abramovich is very unlikely in today's football, IMO.

I disagree - as with most laws, loopholes will be found. Look at the revenues for Man City and PSG, neither of whom have massive global reputations on the same level as Man United, Barca, Real but yet are still recording revenues on a similar scale.

It's because They record artifical deals with other companies within their portfolio which then increases their revenue. By boosting their revenue figures, they're then allowed to spend more. It's just a form of transfer pricing which is used by most big companies to avoid paying more tax etc.

    FFP is just bullshit .

The other point is many thought that FFP was really brought in to protect the bigger clubs. Clubs like AC Milan! They'll turn a blind eye to them I'm sure.

There's definitely some truth there, but PSG & City owners have been there for a reasonably long time now. If you look at the profile of owners that are now investing in football clubs, they aren't people who are buying the clubs as a hobby or to raise their own profile with no real thought of making money a la Abramovich. Its groups of investors from China, USA etc. that have seen the amount of money is in football and are trying to cash in on it.

Celtic will win the 2nd leg about 4-0 though so doesn't mean much.
