Think you will find its 102 goals in 293 apperances. Get your facts right

i see hernandez, the player who is considerably (about twice) better than carroll scored a beautiful goal again.

So that's something like £400,000 for every goal (fee plus wages divided by 102 goals)

Cost us £45m in total including wages, yes he had a few great games but for that money it's what you'd expect! No doubting his ability as a player but he was far from reliable, both in terms of injuries and morale. I can't remember our star player talking about us positively to the media, or trying to encourage the lads. Sat back and let Butt do the talking whilst he kept his head down and counted his money.

26 goals wasn't it? Shola had about as many appearances as Owen did over the same period and scored 18, played through a hip injury too whilst MO was putting his feet up.

I need to find the source but I'm sure he said recently that he'd rather play less games with quality players than more games at a 'lesser club' (us). How's that for professionalism?

He got nowhere near 293 appearances. His record wasn't distastrous (26 in 71 in the league) and there was a brief period where we won if he played and didn't if he was injured, but overall he was a symbol of everything that was wrong at that time, and one of the reasons that the club ended up going down.

But what he said was he'd rather sit on a top club's bench not playing than playing regularly for a 'lesser' top flight club. Lazy no?

293 appearances in 4 years? Now that is impressive, I take it all back.

He's already better than the likes of Messi and Kaka, two players who despite being hailed as 'world class' have yet to score against the Saints...

I would have loved it, just loved it, if he'd signed for the Mackems. Their treatment table could do with some warming.

A first-class scummer, of the same ilk as Darren Bent.
