Spain for me. Got a little place there. Only problem is that with the kids we have to go in August and it's been up to 43c / 110f while we've been out there!
Just come back from Tenerife and going back in September. USA was the plan but redundo f*cked that up. I'm not one for lying on a beach or around the pool but I can sit for hours in bars having a gargle or two and watching scantily clad buxom wenches walk by.
Just got back from Madeira. Was gutted when i was told that I couldn't buy Madeira cake there and felt rather stupid when i was told that Madeira cake is a British thing named after the Madeira wine that we wash it down with! Me and the other half are now planning our next holiday, probably one of the Greek Islands. We're trying to avoid drunken gob ****es and masses of immigrants, so can anyone recommend the best island to go to for us middle aged folk?
Just the ones that I've been told about that are swamping some of the Greek islands causing all sorts of problems apparently!
It's very distressing mate and not what you want to experience on holiday. http://greece.greekreporter.com/201...stating-conditions-for-migrants-and-refugees/
Bloody hell, it's terrible, those poor kids too. It's obviously worse than I was told and you're right that it's very distressing Smug
For some reason I never put 2&2 together when you mentioned Greece and immigrants... It just seemed a very funny thing to say. Yeah as Smug points out there, it's not really what you want on holiday, seeing so much depressing misery, it's much cheaper to go to Liverpool for that sort of thing.
We had a 7 month tour around the French & Italian islands. Sicily and Sardinia were badly affected and many of the locals are poor themselves. It was heartbreaking watching them giving up what little they had to desperate terrified people fleeing a nightmare. We did whatever we could but it was upsetting ...... you're wise to be taking care to avoid it mate.
Thanks for the heads up and the advice mate. I can't blame the parents one bit in trying to get their kids to a safe country away from the wars and savagery of IS. It's heart breaking stuff.
