OK not football. Who can suggest what Niagara Falls is like where to stay etc. and what else we can do?. Me and my ex need to get away for a break as had so much *hit in the last couple of months?
I'd stay in Toronto, lots more to do there and close enough to niagara. Go up the large tower for the views and cocktails, take in a blue jays game, lots of good restaurants as well, good Asian food
I should think Kilburn is the man to ask being a Canadian resident. As Wherever says, Toronto well worth a visit...
You need some Upper Canadian input - I'm living in Atlantic Canada and have never visited Niagara Falls and only spent a few days in Toronto many years ago. Obviously a tourist beacon, which I have as much desire to visit as Las Vegas in the USA.
When I first saw the title of this thread I thought,"Oh no, not another Gerard Butler action movie sequel!"
This is from the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the Niagara Falls website, I mean seriously, are people this stupid: Frequently Asked Questions Q: What time of the year is Niagara Falls open ? A: Niagara Falls is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Q: Are the Falls turned off at night ? A: No Q: What will the weather be like when I visit Niagara Falls?
Am I the only one who thinks Niagra Falls is worth half an hour tops? Impressive, but not a whole holidays worth.
Sorry to hear your news on the domestic front Nigsy. I hope matters improve soon. I'm off to Niagara in August. We're flying from New York to Toronto, staying in a private rented apartment there for a few days and then going to Niagara. We're staying overnight in the Hilton Fallsview Hotel before returning to Toronto the following evening. please log in to view this image Here's a list of things to do there ... https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g154998-Activities-Niagara_Falls_Ontario.html I hope you have a great trip.
I would not bother with Niagara Falls, all it is is a waterfall, there's nothing to do around there at all. Toronto is a big concrete city with no character, I've been there been many times and it gets worse every time. If you want to go to Canada go to Montreal or the best place Quebec City, great food, great sightseeing and really nice people Its the best of France but without the French people.
This is spot on. Just get the train from Toronto for a day visit. Toronto is the place to stay in the area. The train from Toronto takes less than an hour. Montreal is a further 5 hours away on the train so I wouldn't bother commuting to Niagara from there. I found Toronto to be a much nicer city than Montreal and the people speak English.
I stayed at Niagara on the lake which was lovely. That's Canada side. Definitely worth visiting. And I don't think half an hour would do it justice.
