According to the breathalyser laws you're not in control of your actions after a couple of pints. I've no idea whether Gascoigne was rat-arsed or mentally ill ......... I've been so drunk I've done some terrible things tbh.
Sometimes the person in question can be 'the bad influence' in my experience. Having spent 10 years working in a large music venue I've seen & met people from Iggy Pop to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I've seen young kids coerced into taking drugs and doing all kinds of terrible things. You can't always blame 'the wrong crowd' and excuse the person at the centre of the issue. People tend to do that with the famous though.
I wasn't excusing him mate, by default if he's got the tendency to drink heavily then hanging around with that type of person (the fat one with all the bellies) will only make things worse. Of course he needed to help himself, he can't use ignorance as an excuse.
I think all of us who like a drink have done the same tbh. In fact someone once said to me, think about all of the things you've done in your life that you deeply regret or are embarrassed about, and I'll have good money that the vast majority, if not all, were done when the wrong side of a drink. He was right. I'm in control of my drinking, but I still take too much according to the guidelines, but there's been times when I never knew when to stop.
This previously very talented arsehole doesn't give a toss about the rest of society, so why should we give one about him He's had so many chances, and been helped so many times, that I don't give a damn about what happens to him/what he does to himself . . . . not even a little bit Some people are worth caring about, but he's just not but it annoys/baffles me how he gets so much/any publicity now, and I'm just sick of him
I didn't say that ......... you missed out everything I said about beating up women, hanging around almost exclusively with men, wearing make up & overdoing the earrings etc, dressing like a tart, wearing 'hilarious' comic false breasts in public, being tormented & intent on self harming, etc, etc, etc. I've no proof that he's a homosexual, it's just my opinion based on what I've seen ....... which makes me the same as everyone else as far as I can see.
He has quite a history of wife beating, drunk driving, threatening behaviour and latching on to big burly men ....... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image If he was some lout on your street I doubt you'd give him the time of day.
Like I said Billy, it's just my opinion but I'd put money on it. People keep claiming he's seriously mentally ill without any real proof so their guesswork is no better than mine.
He's been sectioned twice Smug. Hell of lot more evidence to back that theory than yours. You don't get sectioned without mental health issues. Yet anyone can fit your gay criteria and not be gay in the slightest.
He's been sectioned, examined by various doctors and allowed to leave after a very short time. Lets be honest, you could say that anyone has mental health issues ...... eating problems, addictions, phobias, etc. The fact of the matter is that lots of people are gay and lots deny it, I simply believe he's one of them that's fits both categories. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-lesbian-and-bisexual-population-2087829.html please log in to view this image
What ever mate, I've tried to explain the problems within mental health hospitals and the system based from my own professional experience, they fail person after person, you want to ignore it that's your bag, but there's more evidence to support the mentally ill theory. You have no evidence to support yours what so ever.
I'm not ignoring it at all, I'm talking specifically about Gascoigne and nothing else. I've already said twice that it's simply my opinion about him being gay from what I've seen of him. I'm not saying he's not mentally ill, he obviously has addiction issues, no self control, low self esteem, etc. However people regularly claim he has serious mental illness without any proof whatsoever. Whatever your professional experience may be you've no more direct contact with Gascoigne than I have so can't diagnose him. If he was seriously mentally ill they can keep him for up to 6 months iirc ....... why don't they and why don't the private hospitals?
Well I'm going off his autobiography. He's had depression since he was a kid when his wee mate was killed in an rta. As someone who has suffered with it I can tell you, it's not very nice. The cemeteries are full of people who had that. Things affect people in different ways mate.
Most people do mate and it's full of shyte tbh. It was his mates brother, he claimed he was the only one there when he died and said it was ages before anyone arrived ..... all nonsense. He tells stories about how, after the accident, he'd run home in tears from Newcastle night matches and dive into bed with his mam & dad. He was about 9 years old, at the time, so, unless he was running 3 miles on his own at night I'd doubt it tbh. Every time he tells his football stories the club or what he sniffed, drank or swallowed changes. He's a compulsive liar so all the illnesses he claims just go over my head.
Both can can keep patients indefinitely. Section 2 is an assessment period, section 3 up to 6 months at which point can be extended by year, year on year for how ever long it takes. Section 4 is an emergency 72hour section which is then followed by a section 2. As I've explained, NHS is structured around a budget which dictates what treatment and support they can give. The north east in particular has had it's mental health budget cut by 12% since 2010 but it's been cut everywhere, some areas worse, The main area which has suffered is the support patients receive when they're released back into the community. They're called CPN's(community psychiatric nurse) Mine was taken off me and my lady has been refused one. We are deteriorating without them, and my dependence on cannabis is growing just to function and get through the day. Private will do what's required so long as the bill is paid. If it's not they'll hand them over to the NHS It's an educated guess Smug, going off the fact that virtually every person I've ever met with mental health problems and rely on the nhs have been screwed by the system. It's a lot of people too.
As I've said Bri, I'm specifically talking about Gascoigne and nothing else, none of what you've written really applies. He's been allowed to leave both NHS and private care after having been diagnosed by an array of doctors. He's had some of the most expensive mental health care, on the planet, and has come out to immediately start the drinking again. Time after time he simply ignores the advice of friends, family & endless experts. Do I want the NHS to spend any money on 'helping him' ......... not one penny, there are people who actually deserve it. If it wasn't for people like Gascoigne there'd be more NHS money for them.
