Great news. On par with VVD signing an extension, if not even better as RB has already done a couple of seasons. Great work again Les.
Yeah, this seems a decent extension, unless we are paying him 125k a week or something. Bertrand if he has a big year (which he could easily do if healthy) is a guy who could get poached. And if we want to start bringing in better players we'll have to pay them more. And starting off by rewarding the ones who are already here is a good way to increase your pay scale without ruffling too many feathers. At the same time, this is where some of our money is going. It's why I've said before that we don't have nearly as much to spend as people think. All that TV money inflates wages. Goes back to what I said on the other thread. We have to throw some money at the youth/academy AND acquire players of various ages AND retain some of the players we have AND sell the ones we might not need or who are overvalued. Just like every other club. So I don't expect us to go quite as crazy with huge transfers as some people are hoping. Doesn't mean the club is being cheap though, just seeing the big picture. And I do think we will spend another 30-40m on moves by the time the transfer period is over. Hjbjrg offsets Wanyama, and Redmond offsets Pelle. So we still have the Mane money left.
