It's getting silly It is public record that the regeneration would need the infrastructure to be improved and a larger capacity would need transport links including rail improvement. Planning permission and authority governance and jurisdiction complicate the matter. My point wasn't that the Americans have seen something others haven't, it was that they may have access to the expertise and experience to manage these issues to realise the outcome. Most of the speculation on here now doesn't advance that premise, it just regurgitates the lack of real knowledge at what the ultimate barriers will be. And, that's not really the important bit. Getting started and having a coherent vision is!
First of all "on here" is a very limited section of people - most of whom don't post but look for early news of things happening to the club. As for my views, I think it would be best for the club if the ownership did change - but only if the new owners were able to add value. If it was to be a "Bartlett" or a "David Lloyd" type of owner then no thanks, I'd rather stick with what we've got. Either way, ownership can only affect the performance in two ways: By a change of manager and/or by providing new funds for player purchases. There is actually a third way - by interfering with the manager (Cellini at Leeds is a good example of this) - but surely you're not advocating that?
So Mr Allam would check we were going to a good home and sell it to a Bartlett or Lloyd type? Don't have much faith in him and his promises, do you?
Has anyone bought us yet? I'm not sure whether to save some money for a season ticket or spend it all on a new set of wheels for the motor.
The atmosphere around the club is toxic, the sooner that's resolved the better and that's only going to happen with a change of ownership. You're an apologist for a complete ****er.
Just had an email from Hull City, telling me/us that Curtis Davies is ''excited for the season ahead'' - nowt' unusual in it but, this type of email for the past 2/3 years has been coming from Hull City Tigers ........ someones mistake, or a change of direction? *Stuck on this thread instead of starting a new one.
I was a supporter of the Allams when the name change was floated. I didn't agree with the plan but could see the logic (need to raise significant investment from overseas and rebranding can often assist this, and "Tigers" appeal to both far east and US). Unfortunately the arrogance and disregard for fans has turned the whole episode toxic and untenable. We need new owners quick I would prefer the Americans, Sachs know how to develop a profit, American owners generally know who to include the fans, and have great business managers who understand sport.
The easy wins to get the fans back on board (if the Yanks do indeed take over) are so bloody obvious only an idiot would ignore them....I hope the Yanks aren't one of those idiots.
I'm not an apologist for anyone, thank you very much. If you actually read what I said it was that I think it would be best for the club if the ownership did change. All I'm trying to point out is that a change of ownership is not necessarily the panacea for all ills as some people on here seem to think. I believe that the Allams' will only sell to the "right" owner - but some people said that about Adam Pearson & Bartlett happened! At the end of the day it's what happens on the football pitch that is the important thing.
The 'right' owner is the one who offers the most money, you don't seriously believe that 'good home' bollocks, do you?
This latest one I think is different: as you say, it's been sent from the usual bs address but, the header is Hull City, previous one, 08/07 the header was Hull City Tigers - the only ones with Hull City as the header was the cynical ones wanting ex pass holders to return. I'm mebbe hoping for something that's not there but ...
I've just checked and all the ones I've received are from Hull City, apart from one Hull Tigers one in 2014, they used to all come from Hull City AFC until 2013.
That's really weird - due to waste bin m/ting I've only got the last two emails sent, todays was headed Hull City, 08/07 it was headed Hull City Tigers, as have been the majority this past couple of years. Perhaps you exec members get emails from a different stream?
You really are an argumental twat aren't you? I think you find that the membership scheme has just about turn 95% of fans against the Allams and created the red card protest towards the end of the season, which if you actually opened your ****ing eyes saw most of the KC odorned with red.We had a PL team in the Championship and really should of walked it, instead we almost blew it. Even Bruce commented about the effects.
To be fair, I have it on good authority that we won't get new owners...they're bound to be second hand.
