It was a minor issue which some thought was the key issue. Did you watch the Boris TV debate? What was his and his, equally invisible today, colleagues' answer to the question of whether they would cull immigration?

This is not an EU issue, it is part of the EEA agreement. Yes our students will still be able to study in Europe, but leaving the EU and therefore by default the EEA they will be treated as foreign students and therefore will pay foreign student fees. It is currently free to study in Germany, Netherlands and Sweden. That will no longer be true post Brexit unless we re-enter the EEA.

I saw Boris clearly say that immigration was not an issue, and that if anything immigration could well increase. It was the equality and control that was the issue.

If it's not an EU issue, it seems irrelevant, but perhaps we could negotiate an equivalent. Perhaps one or more that includes more of Europe, or even the world.

You're fairly new to this discussion. You'll soon realise that Kustard knows a few headlines that Nigel fed him but literally **** all detail of the issues.

You need to break that news to a few Leave voters on this thread, when they come out from behind the sofa.

The funniest part of that debate was straight after when they were asked the question, Boris, Leadsom and the Labour woman all looked at each other hoping someone else would answer it.

Indeed, but that will involve free movement which might not be what some expected from Brexit. Anything done will need to be sorted quickly to avoid a generation losing this benefit.

I agree with you, it should have been a minor issue, focussing more on the reasonable level of control that can be implemented fairly and an understanding that there needed to be protection for all nationals already ensconced in non-parent countries.

I voted for exit and am happy with the outcome and will suffer the change consequences with everyone else, but had the (both) campaign(s) have been better managed and issues more honestly raised by both Remain and Brexit, then I would have accepted the democratic vote and looked for how to best implement it, rather than constantly forecasting gloom and doom.

I missed his TV debate (not by choice), but I think he is an utter buffoon so I had already seen more than enough of him to know he would be nowhere near leading the country.

<laugh> ... smugly? ... I'm not smug I'm fookin' livid ... I've worked in my particular field for 30 years and have been off sick for half-a-day in total (projectile vomiting that wasn't really fair to share with my colleagues) ... I've tried to instill the same work ethic in my kids ... if you want nice things you have to work for them .. you are not entitled to anything that you haven't earned ... all too easy to blame past generations ... there is a world out there and if you are prepared to work hard there are plenty of opportunities ... if that's smug so be it ...

Patronised and disenfranchised .. seriously? ... if advocating getting off your arse and taking responsibilty for your own life is patronising and disenfranchising the poor loves ... well guilty as charged ... no excuse for not in my book.

... and that you appear to think that border control has nothing to do with immigration? ... well now I am grinning ... perhaps even smugly <laugh>

You would be surprised how unreliable that list is. German Universities for example are consistently high level across the board and have an excellent reputation for linking into their manufacturing sector to provide a high level of employment for their students. They rarely appear at the top of the worlds universities but it would be wrong to assume a degree in Germany isnt highly valued. My son is currently looking at studying Physics in Sweden but is yet to decide.

Martin Brower are the world-wide distributors for McDonalds (they don't have their own distribution centres) ... so no ... although some of the logistics would be similar ... <laugh>

If you can't see how attitudes like yours are a part of the problem, there's little point explaining it again.

As for your immigration point, that's not even a decent attempt at twisting it.
