When the UK government launched a new investigation, to 'do what the Portuguese police couldn't', Scotland Yard's top detectives with a massive team were sent to Portugal. They had state of the art technology and had a back up team of translators, computer experts, etc. They proudly, and very publicly, announced that they had critical new evidence, definite suspects and a list of people they wanted to interview or 'imminently arrest'. Then, after spending a fortune and wasting a huge amount of police man hours, to get absolutely nowhere, they decide just to knock it on the head, 4 years, a team of 30+ and over £10 million ......... wtf. And why have the parents just shrugged and gone very quiet?
Seriously, I have my views and met one of the parents 3 years ago when my missus was in hospital. Lips sealed, I only look in one direction..
Regardless of what the police have found or otherwise, I believe there is a mountain of information that's being conveniently buried. Somebody has ****ed up somewhere, I'm absolutely convinced of it.

There's way too many blotches on the evidence mate, any other set of parents would have been ripped to shreds over the unanswered questions and missing links. It makes absolutely no sense to go over the entire algarve area with a finetooth comb and ignore those two completely.
It was a little strange. I did wonder why the police, starting a new detailed investigation, would immediately claim the parents were totally innocent? That doesn't seem like normal procedure ....... they must have had their reasons I suppose. I do find it strange, however, that the parents have suddenly gone very quiet, most unusual for them.

Just look for the police dog video footage when they searched the apartment (if it hasn't been removed) Lots of things didn't add up but why the hell would you go out and leave your very young kids on their own?
The home office here massively struggles with the budget as it is without chasing expensive lost causes like this one. There's a lot of other kids who have gone missing in the mean time, who haven't had anything like this level of attention.
