Corbyn can't even sort out his own party, never mind the EU.

The referendum was an opinion poll and as with all opinion polls it was a snap shot of the people's thoughts on that day.

What if the parliament vote (assuming there is one) is not for say 9 months from now, and by that point the economic effects of brexit have started to impact and there's a strong surge in public opinion against brexit, would they still have a moral obligation to vote as the nation thought in June, or would you say that they should go with the thoughts of their constituents at that point in time? (I accept this is a hypothetical scenario btw but am interested to know what peoples thoughts are on that potential moral dilemma.)

Can you give an example of a few of these "clear plans". It doesn't seem practical to me. For a start .... who would set out the "clear plans"? Would it be the Remain and Leave Campaigns? Would that mean the government had to follow the plans of the winning side? What would happen if the EU says that they are not in agreement with any of the plans? Would the government say that the EU had to agree because it was decided at the referendum? Would the EU say that they weren't consulted and if we were it would have taken years for them to agree - or not!? Did you draft the Labour Party leadership election rules by any chance?

No they don't <laugh> Referendums are not legally binding, so legally the Government can ignore the results; parliament is sovereign. That's why it's classed as an advisory referendum.

So what is the point? You think the government can just ignore the result of a referendum?

Maybe asking for the EU to clarify their position on free movement vs free trade and hammer home the point that without a free trade agreement we're in a mess would have been a good starting point like.

How many of the leave voters who had immigration as their primary objection, would have maybe thought differently about their vote, if they realised that free movement is almost certainly going to be the price paid for free trade post brexit?

Cameron's crew concentrated solely on the economy as they thought that would be enough, they did next to **** all to counter the immigration issue.

The alternative was IDS tbf. I think that's the advantage May has if she calls a GE now.

Maybe they should have had a referendum and ignored the result - because it's "advisory".

Serious question. Are you not at all embarrassed to be Pete's chief cheerleader?

He's a vile old git. You'd cross the street to avoid having to talk to him!
