They aren't 30 verging on 31 going into their last year of contracts. Many said only a month ago they would take £5mill for him. It's a great deal IMO.

 

31 and with dodgy knees and back problems, 12 million is pretty damn good when we paid 8 for him

 

I can see where you are coming from but i still think for 12m, you were probably better off keeping him (unsure how he felt about signing a new contract).

He's still a very decent striker, and if the chinese club were willing to pay him 190k a week, i'm just surprised that he went for 12m not forgetting the recent Brexit exchange rates!

They bought Jackson Martinez for 35.7m and he was 28!

They paid 23.8m for Ramires!

I just think for 12m, you'll find it hard pressed to replace someone like pelle for 12m.

 

He wasn't getting a new contract and he wanted to move on.

I guess you boys know more about it than i do. So i guess as you say 12m for dodgy knee italian striker with 1 year left on his contract and selling to a non rival and someone who is going on 31 (tbh i thought he was 29) i guess thats not a bad deal at all!

Some of the figures coming out though, i think you should have shafted the Pool for more on the Mane deal although its still a great one for you guys

Would have liked to have gotten more for Mane (or better yet kept him), but never thought it would happen.

I think we had the chance to let Mane go for maybe a little less than we wanted, but he and the club part ways on good terms and we can go about our summer business. Or... we could have tried to juice 5m more and ended up with a protracted drama not knowing whether Mane is staying or going or if he'll be willing to play. And the end we could have ended up with less than 30m.

I'm a little more annoyed about only getting 11m for Wanyama than I am about Mane's fee. Thought we could have pushed Wanyama's fee to 15m or at least waited. We had already planned for Wanyama's exit and we have Romeu to replace him so I think we had a little more leverage there.

But I thought we would get something like 6-8m for Pelle. So our net intake for those three players combined is about what I thought it would be. Overall, I'm happy with the business we've done so far.

 

We got nearly £40m for Mane.

 

I guess no more selling from now on, only buying.

all outlets i saw reporting 34 rising to 36.

When they bought Bentekkers for 35 and are planning on selling him for 31 even though he's behind Sturridge Origi and Firmino in that strikers role!

 

I think we should put our foot down on this one. He's not in his final year and he should give the new manager a chance. Hope he sees it that way. I don't expect him to go anywhere........kiss of death

£36.5m so nearly £40m. As he is atm he isn't worth that. He may well become that good though.

 

I think he will stay and then leave next year.
