He was sacked for failing his objective of top four so I dunno what the <doh> is about, it would have been disrespectful to sack him prior to the cup final, even he couldn't **** up a cup final vs Palace, although he almost did.

Mourinho is more than capable of setting up attacking teams (and getting them to defend well), Chelsea first time round, Real Madrid... I'm not worried about that, I hope he doesn't neglect our youth, that's my only worry.

Agree totally mate. We're in a better position, if a managerial change is enforced, than we have been under any of the previous regimes. Form wise over the second half of the season we were very good. If that continues then I see a comfortable mid table season and that is the elusive next level for us! To be safe with more than three games left!!

I'm not sure mate, but Sol Campbell is guaranteed an interview every time, somebody's gotta give him a job sooner or later <laugh>

    I get everything.

His objective was to finish in the top 4.

If you're at work and your objective is to sell £500k worth of stock, but you only sell £400k worth of stock but you make a decent cappuccino, then do you stay hired, even though you've made your intention to retire in 12 months time perfectly clear and the best salesman in the world is currently looking for a new job.

You're binned mate, it's nowt to do with the bigger picture.

Oh yeah. I totally understand the twitchy arses!! The FA couldn't give a **** about Sunderland though. Sorry to say. It would take a change in culture in the FA, in my opinion, for BSA to be offered the job anyway, which is why I can't see it.

Don't think relegation is necessarily on the cards if he did leave though.

can you imagine what it would be like in Newcastle if Rafa was being touted for the managerial position of his country?

A lot of good points on twitter that maybe we should offer Sam his contract now, a bumper contract with a ticking clock on the decision, and if he doesn't take it move on and get a replacement and press on.

Maybe a little hasty for me, but the clock is ticking on this. FA need to pull their finger out and either make a formal approach or rule him out.

They're suggesting we replace him if he didn't. Their logic is, show some loyalty or risk not having a job at all(as he could be overlooked for England yet). Like I said, hasty. Probably expensive and very daft too.

Buck stops with the FA for me, They knew full well they may need to replace the head coach, they should have been ready to act swiftly and as such should be ridiculed and pressured for not having their **** together.

Init. That's how tetchy folk are starting to get. Time is rapidly becoming a factor in reality. I expect this sort of panic to start spreading rapidly if the FA don't pull their finger out. I see meltdowns on the horizon. Cue Monty. <laugh>
