Same question... do you have proof that he didn't have enough support? Or is this all supposition? You also seem to have missed the part about the dynamics being different had he done a "Theresa May" which was the point of my original post. You really are a dimwit Pete <ok>

There were a few who stood for the leadership when they knew that May had much greater support.

I'm afraid you're talking out of your ample arse Pete. For someone with as many years on the clock as you have you're remarkably dim witted and naïve.

    Pete's world suggests otherwise.

He's a prize **** tbf. My original question was whether Boris Johnson may be regretting not sticking with Cameron as it seems clear today, that had he done so, he may well have achieved his ambition of being next PM whichever way the referendum went. Instead of discussing it, Pete's proved himself in an extraordinarily convoluted fashion, what an imbecile he really is.

There's a good reason why the normally attention seeking BJ has vanished. He realises he's ****ed things right up!

Owen Paterson has just said Andrea Leadsom would have won with the support of the Party membership, but withdrew due to the abuse she was receiving from within. But apparently, according to Mystic Pete, people only withdraw because they don't have enough support <doh>

"At the time, little was required to implement the directive as Britain already had a
legislative system which met most of the requirements of the Directive in respect of
assessing and managing risk, as well as the duties of employers. The Directive mirrored
much of what was in the 1974 Health and Safety at Work (HSW) Act, but also the
Regulations that had been made under it such as the Safety Representatives and Safety
    Committees Regulations 1977."

It goes on to comment on the problems that the EU regulations place on small businesses, and part of that was due to UK trying to beef up the EU regulations, which were seen as not robust enough. The consequence was cluttering up the system. Something that parts of that report concede wouldn't have happened had the UK been able to act independently, and apply their more robust regulations.

Google's okay, but trying to prove an argument on one document, without knowing the wider context just weakens your case.

You've latched on to one topic, and are struggling to prove your point on that. Even your claim on the number of deaths is not really supported by the document you've linked. It says it's not possible to claim it's down to the EU, as the rate was falling as a consequence of the UK legislation before that anyway.

Labour Party leadership election triggered - but will Corbyn need to get nominations?
Meanwhile, in the Conservative Party .... Theresa May will be leader and Prime Minister - it's easy if you are not a useless party.

What if you're the Sensible Party?

Why are you supporting one of your major opponents? The Tories are your competitors in the next General Election. I take it you have enough support to stand against them and win?

Has he adopted the hamster wheels in prisons to power Morden?

Or the electric shock implant in teenagers to stop pregnancies. He has one up his arse but it's just for pleasure.
