everyone's a bit stir crazy

I don't post often on here but think a few people need to calm down. It's the transfer window everyone seems to be panicking over what we are doing. The Barton saga is a bit mental but he's one player, albeit one of our best players, and what will be will be. I like Barton on the pitch but if I had someone working for me who was stirring **** and constantly whinging I'd probably tell them they're welcome to leave as well. Not to mention that we're not short on midfielders (yes I know wingers etc. but Barton isn't a typical winger)

Though this isn't another Barton post. A couple of days ago everyone was screaming "are we going to be relegated?", "We're going to be relegated", "HOLY F*** ON A BISCUIT WE'RE GOING TO BE RELEGATED!", which seems more premature than a teenager with his first jazzmag.

This forum is for opinions and I respect that- but it's pretty clear that we should all calm down a little and just see how things pan out. There'll be a lot of people doing 180's if come the start of the season we end up with a couple of decent results. For all we know a few of the young'uns could be ready to break into the first team.

We've made a few signings hopefully we'll get one or two more, we may (probably) lose a few players as well. The season hasn't even started yet - I hope our signings turn out to be as good as I think and that the team holds together - if we go into the season quietly confident that our team are better than we yet know and not so negatively it's not going to do us any harm.

Finally a few questions for you lot - Is there more quality in the squad than last year? Have our current crop of youngsters improved? is there any more depth to the squad than last year? are our competitors much improved compared to last year?

Oh and lastly, protests, riots, really? Over Joey Barton? - someone on here has a brilliant quote on their signature from SBR - what is a club anyway?

 

Barton isn't irreplaceable and I know there's plenty of time left in the window but I just can't see him being replaced by the current ownership if he does go.

There's been lots of noise in the media about us going for players but after getting Cabaye Pardew's gone from adding another 3 or 2, to another 2 or 1 then saying another 1 the other day. I just feel Pardew's been telt he's basically getting **** all to spend even though out current net spend can't be very high unless we've paid stupid agent and signing on fee's for Ba and Marveux.

If Barton does go he needs replaced as he was arguably our best player last year.

Is Barnetta still available on a free? I can see him being the only viable replacement. Hopefully his agent isn't a ****.

 

Well said, your right when we start picking up a few points at the begining of the season people will calm down.
