i just hope that if he does get the job he wont leave us high n dry. i would like to think that he would work something out with the FA and Sunderland where he would stay in charge for a while up until we got someone in permanently to replace him. Don't just want a knee jerk replacement as there doesn't really seem to be anyone out there at present who could potentially fill big Sam's boots. Sure a couple of you lads will come back with some names though
Won't be like that Crumble. If he's offered he has to go immediately. We can't sit around until the season starts waiting for a new manager. If he does get it I want us to go after Eddie Howe. And fast!
IF we do need a new manager I"m not sure EH could handle daily pressure up here (he did'nt at Burnley & it's much more in your face here) -it's safe & comfy managing in the deep south in my opinion For me Klinsman may be a good fit plus our US link helps
Just a **** time for something like this to happen. Got to wish Sam every bit of luck going all the same if he does get it.
This whole saga just makes me hate Owl head Woy Hodgson even more.. Finally after years of uncertainty we finally looked like we had a manager that could give us some stability. I just hope Klinsmans good at interviews.
http://sport.bt.com/football/news/s...s-linking-him-to-england-job-S11364072913299? No talks held at all with the FA according to this report. Who do you believe?
You know the type of manager that works, so just go after the other one - Pulis. If anybody tried to convince me he was completely happy at WBA I'd laugh in their faces.
He'll be interviewed mate, ex-United chief exec, David Gill is on the panel of three who decide the next manager and Fergie's given SA a glowing reference, saying he's the best qualified Englishman.
I know and agree he will - but that report says he hasn;t yet but there's been others (including the Daily Fail and the Daily Mirror) who said he's held pre-lim talks! All bollocks so far. That said - naming those 2 papers doesn;t tell us much other than it's probably bullshit!
Yes the football expert, who from all the managers in the world selected these two. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image That turned out well
From a neutral perspective, the FA will probably be dragged every which way through the media if they don't interview some English managers. If Defoe deserved a call up (according to 99% of fans on here) then Allardyce deserves an interview at the very least. Don't forget though, even if he leaves, he's transformed your squad, the rotten apples have gone, he's brought in some grafters and some good players. I don't think it'd be back to square one if he left.
Apparentely Mourinho was top choice over Moyes but he never come. As for Van Gaal (Gill had stepped down by then and been replaced by Woodward), I'm convinced his groundwork will be vital going forward, I certainly don't think he was a failure to the extent that Moyes was. His football was poor to watch, but he delivered a trophy and he promoted some unbelievably promising youngsters.
I saw it happening from the off unfortunately. As far as English options go. There simply isn't another choice.
He's definitely the best English option. I just think the FA won't go for him. I can see Ze German getting it, which would be a disaster in my opinion.
That would be perfect. But when it's whittled down to two and one is our manager. I'm sure you can understand why some of our arses are going. The damage would devastating. Hope the FA actually ponder the damage it would do to an English team. Taking a manager who's midway into laying a foundation on a big club who's been hemorrhaging money and going through managers like they're disposable at a time they're trying to recruit for new season. Just to have our manager in for what should be a comfortable qualification to a sham of a Tournament.
OK - I'll give you that even though he was sacked the day after winning the FA cup My point is that the FA selection panel haven't got a clue. A recent quote from Gill: “Manchester United going back to the 1950s played in a certain way. We want attacking football and I am sure that will be a key part going forward." So who do they appoint - Jose As I recall Big Sam was shown the door at West Ham and N***e Utd. due to the style of football that the team played not being to the liking of those in charge at the club. Surely one of those gimps at the FA have access to google to do a quick search.
