I don't think even the Allams would be daft enough to drag this out much more. There comes a point where we do need to start planning properly for next season, even if it's just one or two additions.
We didn't have any sponsorship deal when the price went up, we only did that deal last week. Not that I think it matters, the new shirt sponsorship deal is likely to be for about £1-1.5m a year, over double what we were getting, but still not of massive significance in a £100m deal.
Unless you hadn't legally agreed to sell at that price. The alterations mean you could sell it for more than the initial offer when you do finally sell it.
Depends on how long the deal is for and how much extra they are asking for. If they're asking for £50 million extra then they don't want to sell and the sponsorship deal and the new contracts to Tom and Elmo are irrelevant.
Bruce has just said that he's got absolutely no idea what's happening regarding the ownership of the club.
His reply to Matt Dean that you had better ask Ehab suggests a certain amount of frustration on Bruce's part. Would have been interesting to hear his tone of voice.
What I'm saying is if the rumours are true he wouldn't stay if he knew for certain the Allams were staying
Neither hear say or there , Is It, Really.? one way or the other, Bruce has confirmed He will be in charge for this season. No real way for Bruce to back out say January window. Once the uncertainty is known.
The club has been sold but due to a confidentiality clause you'l never get to know who they are. From now on the new owners will go by the name of X. Operating in this manner allows owners to treat genuine fans with contempt. What they don't realise is it works both ways.
If the club isn't sold I suspect Bruce will be off pretty quick. He's already expressing a lot of frustration about budget and the ownership situation, and perfect timing to having him being interviewed for the England job.
Can't recall him doing so. One source suggested his budget was £16million plus wages and any money from sales. Another said it was £18 million. Looking at the money similar sized clubs, Palace, Leicestet, are splashing about it doesn't seem a lot. Especially given our problems up front. No doubt we will see midfielder brought in. Could be a long, hard season ahead. Even Newcastle with their detested chairman have spent £27 million after relegation and are after others.
With the injuries that have just been reported. With all the other stuff going on, it is a waiting game, but this club and it's supporters are in need of some news, either one way or the other. I don't know if I can ever remember such a quiet time pre season with so many unresolved(massive) issues. Even the fact that the club didn't really celebrate promotion back to the premiership, I know it was down to players going on holiday etc. It was all so subdued and that has continued to this very day. The wall between fans and club seems to be getting higher. Sure things are happening behind the scenes. The signs don't look good but I hope I am wrong.
